Should I buy Uncharted or something else??

I hope I've put this in the right section. I first wanted to put this in the serious discussion section, because I don't really know if it's normal that a male person doesn't like shooters, sport games and race games ...

It seems that in times of economic crisis all developers create shooter or race games. I don't really like those genres, but I haven't bought a game for ages. I try demo's of shooters on PSN and xbox live, but I just can't get into it. I want to try another game which isn't an RPG, because there aren't much RPG's these days. (For me Fallout 3 is not an RPG!)

A game which really interests me is Uncharted Drake's fortune. The things I saw about that game look really amazing! So should I buy it, is it really that good??

Could someone advise me some other games for PS3, Xbox 360?
I need a good game with a nice cast of characters, good story, not too much scenes were you need to shoot waves of people, pick up there ammo and shoot another wave of people before you can move on. Also I don't really like sequels like Halo, because I haven't played the other games.

I don't really play other games besides Rpg's much, but the non-RPG games I have played are Devil May Cry 4 and Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction. I really like those games. They aren't too much action or adventure, but a nice mix between those two.

So could you advise me some non-rpg games which I would like (No sports or 6 years old games and definitely not horror games like Resident Evil) and convince me to buy Uncharted Drake's Fortune?

In any case I hope to go to my local game store next week, because the suspense of not playing any games lately really kills me and I NEED TO BUY A GAME!

Maybe I only buy Uncharted because I love the characters and enviroments, or maybe if you could convince me, I buy a lot of games. I have all consoled available today, in case you need to now.

Judging from the kind of games you like (which is kind of the same as mine) you'll definitely want to try this one (even while it's already 6 years old):

It's so awesome. You should also play it because there's a sequel coming up, and it would be too bad if you wouldn't get the chance to play because you hadn't played the prequel! I really think you'll like it. It's definitely one of my favorite games, even while it's old!

Uncharted was my first shooting game besides the ratchet and clank series which isn't really shooter. Uncharted was a great game and I loved it's great graphics and gameplay. This isn't your typical shooter like most that are out, because you have platforming and puzzles and not in much shooting parts, more of an adventure for me... After Uncharted I started to like shooters more and I bought Metal Gear Solid 4, even though I haven't played any of the others. I was able to go with the story most of the time and I still loved every bit of it. This was my seconds shooter game and I wanted to try more.

I would recommend Uncharted and Metal Gear Solid because both are really good games. I would recommend Uncharted first because the sequel is coming out soon and is expected to be just as great as the first was. I would say that Metal Gear Solid does give more gameplay time since it is long and there are tons of things to do besides the story.

Thanks, Ucharted 2 looks indeed very promising. I've heard that Uncharted 1 was only about 8 hours long, and just as a movie because every scene was motion captured! (and it's platinum cheap!)

No, do not, under any circumstances buy this game. It was nothing like the old games and is painfully boring and repetitive. Stick with Uncharted, it's awesome.

It kept me playing until the end but it was too short and it was stupid to see your character get shot a couple times and still keep running. Since you say you have all the consoles I would suggest you buy all the MGS games. You can get MGS1 for PC if your PS1 doesn't work. MGS2 & 3 are for PS2 but I guess you have it. Trust me, if you can withstand the shitty graphics of MGS1 you'll have a blast.

99% of games your character can take bullets and keep running. Are you sure you've played MGS because he's not exactly made of glass in that. Play Uncharted on crushing and he's not so tough lol.

If you haven't seen or heard of the spoilers, around 2/3 of the way through the game, you'll shit your pants. :aldo:

The trophy's easily extend it's life, and regardless of that factor you'll want to replay it over.
And Crushing is crazy shit, I'm up to like chapter 19 and I'm basically pulling my eyes out in order to get through it. It's that hard. :wtf:

If I don't find my stuff there (which is quitte impossible I'll go to a store next week. Maybe I should also pick some PS2 Rpg's like digital devil saga and shadow hearts. Thanks for your help!

No online. There are trophies after you DL the patch, and sure, you can save anywhere, but like every other shooter it will just restart you when you load it at the last checkpoint.

As for the voices, I have no idea. Perhaps you should import it?

The PAL version of Uncharted does, in fact, have that feature. Options -> Language. Multitude of European languages to choose from - text, subtitles, speech. Easy mindfuck: Set a different language for each of them.

Yeah, in my country xbox360 and ps3 games costs too arround 70/85 euros. Its crazy, still platinum games like Uncharted and Assassins Creed are only 30 euros.

If you're familiar with MGS1,2&3 storylines then MGS4 definitely is a must-have.
I thought Uncharted was brilliant so yep I'd recommend it if you're into action/adventure, also Bioshock[usually I'm not into First person shooters but this one was an exception] and Prince of Persia [everytime I play it I can't take my eyes of the enviroments, pure magic].

I've tried the demo of Bioshock once, but it was too much horror for me... I might go back to a store to buy Resistance retribution and Prince of Persia. The dutch voices in Uncharted suck (except Nathan's) so I switched to the English ones. It looks amazing for being older than a year... (I was surprised the intro wasn't the same as the one in the demo.
