Fuckin' awesome movie <3. The A10's made me cream my pants. Only wished Robert Patrick had made a cameo. Anyway, did anyone notice the tributes from other movies?

The ones I noticed:

1) Tribute to Blade Runner: The Skynet base was imo cleary based off of the Blade Runner city of LA.

2) Tribute to Alien 2: When John is waiting for the elevator, he hits the side and shouts "come on". Mum kept on about this until we left the cinema :aldo:

3) Tribute to Alien 3: When he shoots the molten metal container and it pours over the Terminator. He then shoots the nitrogen or whatever it was to cool it.

Anyone notice any others? :cathryn:

I'm sorry but I can't agree with any of them.

1) It looked just like what I'd expect Skynet to look like really. If anything it's probably based off a lot of dystopian cities shown in films.
2) That's stretching a bit far for me. I mean "come on".
3) If anything I'd say it was a tribute to Terminator 2 which was before Alien 3.

I did however like the part where...

...Kyle was taught to put string around the shotgun and his arm. Even if it was an almost unnoticeable part of Terminate 1.

The fire plumes of the city were one of the most iconic parts of the Blade Runner city and when it panned over it was almost identical imo.

2) His actions, the way he looked up and everything was realllly similar. It's not just the quote which was the same, but it was the way it was done.

3) Maybe yes.

Just looking at some trivia for T4:

"Director McG asked the cast and crew to read the novel "The Road" by Cormac McCarthy and "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" by Philip K. Dick - the basis for Blade Runner (1982) - because he wanted them to absorb the bleakness of the world in the novels."

and for number 2:

"Several shots focus on the feet of the characters. This is a trademark of director James Cameron, who made the first two Terminator films."

Not saying that's proof but it shows it could easily have been a dedication to BR's city and definitely could have been a tribute to James Cameron, considering he directed Alien 2 as well :aldo:

Oh and shit forgot the

Great Escape Tribute. There's no denying that one XD

I was either going to go see this or Angels and Demons on sunday, but I heard that this didn't have as great of a plot as the other terminators. Was the story good?

I was entertained but was not "blown away". Angels and Demons was good, a little better than the DaVinci Code. Star Trek is still the best film I've seen this summer thus far though. (I'm not a big Star Trek fan, but that movie was really good.)

Yeah star trek was good. But... I don't have a car and the only theater in town just swiched from A&D to Terminator so I think I'll see that instead
