But i doubt anything along these lines will happen within gaming fairly soon, for the industry has only really just vaugely cracked the tabboo of sex and real human like relationships within gaming, in which Mass Effect took on well, but Fox News decided to black list it as something it truely wasn't.

Even Heavy Rain seems to be taking on the same role, as it's such an in-depth and character building game, rather than just the generic average game you'd see now.

I've no issue with gay characters appearing in any medium. Hell, the Metal Gear series has multiple gay characters and are some of the manliest games ever made.

I'm actually kinda surprised there aren't more gay characters in videogames, at least of the camp variety, since gaming is becoming ever more mainstream. GTA has the "Ballad of Gay Tony" coming out so who knows.

You've missed the point of this thread. It isn't to say Noctis is gay, it's to ask people how they would react IF (psst, that means it's hypothetical) it turned out he was gay.

The way I understand that kind of thinking is, sex is only supposed to be used for procreation, because that's what it was intended for. Anything that separates the two - which includes a rather large range of things, like birth control, self-pleasure, sex outside of marriage, and, of course, gay sex - is therefore problematic. I think some might justify it by the idea that it's wasting potential lives, though that gets kind of messed up when you're dealing with women.

The problem, of course, is that a lot of them tend to forget that religiously-speaking, it's basically equivalent to adultery - which most don't judge very harshly, and certainly don't complain about when it shows up in the media. Not to mention that those kind of rules probably don't say much about a relationship that doesn't involve sex. =P

Nothing personal here, but anybody claiming to not like gay people because of "religion" is not just wrong but entirely stupid on an epic level. No that's okay. I just wanted to clarify that I was not the same as those hypocritical idiots. I support both fake and real life homosexual romances, which the yaoi fangirls may or may not support the real one. I also think it's a matter at how creative you are. They are probably not creative enough to think of a fanfic involving an official couple, so perhaps that's why they'd be disheartened by an official gay couple?
