Topic name is the question =)
If you see someone that always wears the latest fashion/trend. Does that means that he/she is a snobby spoiled rich bitch?
Or if you see someone that wears hip/hop clothes, does that mean that he/she is hardcore gang banger and a thug?
What kind of clothes do you wear?

...not exactly, but i think it still applies to most people. XD
..personally, i dress up according to my whim. There are times when i want to dress up like a rocker chick, a fashionista or an artsy fartsy gal. lol. But my personality is actually that of a fucking demure girl. :aldo:

Can't judge a book by its cover bla bla bla.
I wear comfortable clothes. Although people may look at my style a tad hipsterish.

I personally think clothes tell part of the story, just not all of it.

My thoughts too :D But I would judge a person on what/how they speak and act rather than what they wear. I know a few people who dress like old people and they're fun lot :3 And some who follow fashion like mad and they're a nice/kind lot :3

If you'd hear me speak, you'd open your mouth. I'm kinda short for my age, yet girls descrieb my voice as a"wave of power and confidence"... Or so they say. And my clothes? Basically pants below my ass, any t shirt does it and when I play sum guitar for my friends, I usually bring along a hat like old men use in the villages. You can image my portrait...

So... Some of you judge others by grammar... It would be difficult to judge someone's speech through the Internet.
Lets say... You have known someone through the Internet for about 6 months. So this Individual tells you that he/she have finally bought a microphone and he/she starts to speak to you.
So it turns that this person speech & behavior is a little bit weird.. Retarded? Would you recent this person? Even though he have been cool with you?
So off topic >.>

People may come out with random platitudes about it just being appearance and all that crap, but we all know that's bullshit.
Clothes maketh the (wo)man as they say.
I mean clothes cover most of your body (unless it's real hot or you're a slut :wtf: ), they are what people see as soon as they meet you, or pick you out of a crowd. I'm not advocating stupid trend following (far from it), but of course we make judgments of people based on their clothes and you can deny it all you want but its the harsh truth.
If I see someone dressed like an artfag or hipster I'm going to assume you're a douchebag. Might be unfair but experiences in my life usually place people who dress like that as being twats (thank you art school for making me lose faith in man  )
Personally, I make sure I dress without following bullshit trends, because I feel more comfortable and I think that it creates an impression I feel is accurate(ish) of my persona. The day I wear skinny jeans is the day you're allowed to shoot me with a shotgun in the face :wtf:

You can decide what clothes wear but you cant decide how you are, so no, because one could wear the coolest clothes possible but this doesnt makes him/her automatically the coolest person ever :awesome:

I judge people by their whole appearance, not just the clothes they wear, though that's a part of it. There's their expression, the way they walk, and their general 'aura', to risk sounding like a hippie, that sort of stuff. Not the way they talk though, apart from telling where their from, voices tend to be very misleading.
So if someone's wearing chavvy clothes, walking normally and has a smile on his face, he's probably alright, but if he has a smug look on his face and walks with that ridiculous chicken swagger, he is a twat with no means of redeeming himself.

I judge people on the way they present themselves. I believe that its impossible to not judge a person by the way they present themselves. That's why we have taste and everything. We want to be ourselves and show it for the most part because it reflects your personality for the most part for people who don't know you well.
When you go to a job interview you dress to impress because you know that dressing well will improve your impression upon the interviewer. Who is judging not only on your qualification or lack thereof but your appearance.
Back to using bad grammar and people judging you on that. It makes you sound like a child especially since you made such an elementary error. I'm sure that to other people a lot of stuff I'm saying now isn't grammatically correct which I am totally unaware of, but at least I know when to use do vs. does which is expected of most people.

That would depend on how you define "clothes"
If you mean something a person put on, then I don't really think so.
I think it more believable that the way a person wear means more.

Did the topic allow for the perception of "clothes" as a verb instead of a plural noun? I wouldn't know. I didn't actually read it.

It's so shallow to judge people based on the clothes they wear. Because some people wear Billabong , Louis , or maybe Roxy , it doesn't mean they are rich. I saw some people who're not rich or don't earn much money like to wear trendy-elegant clothes , but they're not rich at all. Because they use phoney Louise which are very cheap; etc. In some case is just like the more they're poor the more they will try to wear elegant clothes and use heavy make-up on face in order to look like high-class women to cover the truth which is opposite. So "what you see is what you get" people are fucking stupid. Unfortunately , many people still judge people based on the clothes and the appearance.

Personally I judge people on grammar.
Ditto. :kira:
As for the question, it really depends. If you have enough money to buy whatever kinds of clothes you want, the clothes don't define you as a person, they define what you are trying to be, or fit into.
If you can't afford whatever you want, then clothes do define you to an extent. It shows you have little or no money. But, that is not all there is to a person.
So, still, no, they don't.

honestly, if i can look decent in cheaper clothes and keep th money i saved that way getting myself a good game and go out to eat or drink with friends, i prefer not to wear brands.
some ppl go through starvation to wear expensiv stuff bcause they think that way they fit in, its stupid.

With the mangled grammar of the title it's hard to say one way or the other.

I judge character solely on appearance.
As a girl I'm not really as into the most-wear every morning makeup, short-shorts, low cut cami, ultra tiny miniskirt, colorful flip-flop/high heel style that most the girls in my area wear. I wear large t-shirts, baggy shorts, don't wear makeup, and I like Converse. Which apparently means in the eyes of some and them and other adults is that I come from a improvished family who can't get me nice dresses and trips to the hair stylist. :wtf:

I think it does to a certain level. You cannot know a person just by the way they look, but you can get an idea about the person. What they might like and how they want the world to view them. Take for example your average joe. He wears what is considered to be the norm so that he can fit in. Animosity is fine for him. Or he just might not like to spend too much money on his attire.
Then you have people with a little money (or more of a personality when it comes to how they look). They might spend money on expensive coats, buy a pure-leather belt, studded belt, etc.
Ultimately though I think clothing just helps you get an idea for what the person likes. Someone who wears nice, socially acceptable clothing and is an adult likes to be seen as an accomplished and reliable individual (I'm of course talking about suites and formal wear.) Get a college student who dresses in similar clothing and they are probably trying to fit into the adult crowd and detach themselves from the youthful, inexperienced crowd.
*shrug* In the end though you can't truly describe someone until you spend a lot of time with them.

I tend to dress preppy at times....and rocker sometimes
When it comes to girls though...I freaking love rocker girls...especially punk rock.
