Here is a link to an article on gamesindusty.biz explaining that Sony have come to an arrangement with Immersion to get rumble technology back into 'future Playstation products'. I assume this means a new version of the Sixaxis controller would be released at some point, although this is not specifically mentioned in the article.

Sounds like good news, doesn't it? Hopefully a new Sixaxis will be released soon with rumble and motion sensing, and all the negativity about the lack of rumble can become a thing of the past.

Surely that would cause problems though? I mean dosen't it have to be one or the other. If your playing something like Warhawk a slight vibration from a random explosion could cause you to fly into a brick wall at 200 mph. Could be a tad dangerous.

Lol true. There was an old FPS that i traded in that was one of the first to have rumble with it. However it was so huge and the analogue sticks were so sensitive
that sniping was impossible if anyone would happen to step on a twig 12 miles away

The Wii remote has rumble and motion sensing and it works just fine, so I don't see why Sony can't do the same.
I'm just glad that they're sorting this out while PS3 is still in the early stages of it's lifecycle.

Id like that. If you got hit by a missile and it knocked you flying, it would make it more realistic, that would be so cool!

well, personally I don't care much about rumble. OK, it would be nice to have it back, but I spent so much time to de-rumble myself...well, then, it was a waste of time, but I got to secret garden in shaqdow of the colossus in the process. but one thing: since when was rumble standard on PC's?

There are some rumble mice but none of my friends have them.
Everyone knows how I stand on these motion control/rumble issues.

Lol rumble-mice would be worse. You're entire computer desk would shake. Then again that may add a nice effect to firefights.
