Who's your favorite musician? List your reasons please if you can/feel like it.
Mine's are either Jimmy Page or John Coltrane. Can't really decide. They both write awesome music and kill with their instruments. And most importantly, they were both very influential musicians to their respective genres. GENIUSES.

I can't pick one so I'll picked my three favorites :
I've always been a huge Rush fan, I refer to Geddy Lee as "the GeddyGod" he influenced me to play bass and be a musician many, many years ago. The sounds of his playing goes straight to my heart and soul. I have a ton of respect for him.
I also highly admire Gackt, the reason is he composes great songs, has so much talent to play all those instruments, dance, act, etc.. but also how he tries to help people and helps them motivate themselves. On top of all his good fortune and great looks he's not arrogant, he has a great sense of humor and that says a lot to me.
A third would be Jon Anderson from Yes, he is so positive and can help you smile and not feel alone in your dark times. He was my place of comfort when I was dealing with my mother dying of cancer. His songs, his inspiration and his overflowing love of life has always inspired me.

So far the responses seem pretty firm and considered. I think that allot of the personality traits that make up avid music fans and those that make up Final Fantasy fans are similar. Wouldn't be surprised if there were allot of musical people who are members of this site.
I like Thom Yorke the most. Specifically because I don't think there is anyone else in the electo-alternative scene that gives themselves as much for the music. Radiohead's producer Nigel Godrich is amazing, and the band is amazing too. But I got tons of respect for Thom because he writes the songs and stays with them past the point of exhaustion, just to get them as good as possible imo. I actually don't think there are very many bands in any genre that are as willing as Radiohead to approach a song, see it come togeather, tear it apart, see it come togeather again, tear it apart again... ad nauseum. Certainly there have been many great jazz musicians and those of other genres that have given themselves exceptionally to music. My passion for this genre though keeps me firmly in respect for Mr. Yorke.
