Is it any good?

Of the people on this forum who own a PS3 do you use the Internet Browser very often? Do sites like Youtube and Dailymotion function properly? Is there proper keyboard/mouse support? And is it very fast?

The intenet browser seems like a really neat addition to the PS3 but I was just concerned as to how well it really functions.

I don't use the internet browser at all but since you asked I decided to use it(typing this on it right now). It has keyboard support but I'm not so sure about mouse. Youtube works but I got a "cannot display page" error when I typed something in the dailymotion search. So Dailymotion works just not so sure about the search. It takes a while to load but before you get to the site most of the images are already there. I don't see myself using it over my PC unless I want to watch a HD video feed on my bigger TV screen and youtube quality is nothing I want to see on my TV.

Thanks for the info, Desi.

From what you say I don't think I would use it in preference to my PC either, but I thought it might be good for general browsing and the like, which seems to be the case. It's good to know that Youtube works and that you can use a keyboard.

It sounds like a fun bonus feature - I don't know how much I'll use it when I get a PS3, but I'm glad it's there and that it works.

I agree it is a pretty nice addition. I don't have my PS3 (yet :shifty:) but I know it does supports both the keyboard and mouse. I wouldn't use it as an alternative to my PC but it's nice to quickly look something up without having to wait a while for the PC to load up.
