So, tonight's my prom night. I'm pretty excited and I thought everyone should know :aldo:

The reason for this thread: Reminiscing about your prom night.... whether you went or not. stuff like that.

So, the theme of my Prom is Jungle Fever (I know. Lame.) It's my first HS dance and my last. I'm only going because of my friends. I wanna spend as much time with them as possible before we all head out to College:wub: We were going to get a Limo, but we decided on carpooling (saves money). After prom we're having an after-party at friends and hopefully my dad doesn't find out i'm doing all of this. Unlike the original formal pictures at prom, we have a black and white photo booth (free). At first I thought it was kinda dumb, but now that I think about it it's not so bad. . . *sigh* Hopefully, today will be an amazing day.

Was shitty, left early to go out and get drunk with my sister until like 5am.

It was barely epic. Plus it was free, so fuck them, I'll never wear a dress again.

I had a prom at 9th grade. It was wonderfull......i couldnt imagine a better way of saying goddbye to my friends and my school.

Well we had a prom kind of thing on the beach. I arrived with a friend of mine completely wasted, she was stoned beyond belief and I remember telling her that the people in the distance couldn't be trusted. My exact words were "They can't be trusted, they will kill us!". I tried to pull her away to run but she realized before I did that, THAT was actually where the party was being held, and those were a group of our friends in the distance.

So before we actually got there we got lost in the forest leading to the beach for a good hour and a half. Everything went downhill from there, never get lost in a forest with someone stoned about to hit the next load of drugs. Especially not if you're so drunk you can't tell the difference between a tree and a person.

I don't remember prom because I didn't go. Waste of time and money, imo. Dress you're only gonna wear once, shoes, nails, hair; that's all crap that doesn't mean squat to me. Besides, I could hang out with my friends/listen to music/dance for free. Not that I want to, but the whole concept of high school memories at some faggy dance is pointless. Chances are, you'll never see those people again and a good number of them were douche bags anyway.

I went to prom not even a month ago... It was okay. As usual I appeared overdressed yet very fashionable :P I wore a black tux with a red tie and handkerchief, and of course my worn out pink converses -_- The music was lame but it was cool to hang out with friends.

Mine was a few weeks ago, and it was at the school because they're such cheap bastards. I swear like everyone turned up either drunk or stoned or both.

I'd completely forgotten about it until a few days before, so I ended up raiding meadowhall to get a dress and all that the day before, and I still had one of the best dresses. I swear half the girls at my school have absolutely no taste whatsoever.

Man i feel old now my prom was like 7 years ago all i remeber is my girl and i leaving at like 1000pm to be everyone down to the jersey shore , i had fun that night and for the next week i partied my ass off.

I didn't go. Apparently the hotel was shit, the food was shit, the music was shit. They all bitched about the ball and raved about the after-parties. I just sat there, stared at them and after a while said "So while you were all paying $150 for a dress, $80 for the ball ticket $60 for a limo to take you up and around King's Park while you got drunk of the pissweak alcohol your hardcore brother got for you, I was sitting at home enjoying myself with nice food, my own selection of music and some nice wine. Well, that hardly seems fair, I feel sorry for you guys."

They decided to give me shit until I reminded them that their best memories are going to be of the whole 5 years instead of just one night.

Why pay money to spend a few hours surrounded by people I don't like, eating bad food and wearing an uncomfortable dress when I was doing that every day at school anyway? And the ball had the added 'bonus' of having to endure their obnoxious partners and the crappy pop songs the DJ would play.

The feedback I heard on the ball from my friends:

I went to my senior prom. The place was small with a wall that was entirely mirror and made the place look bigger than it is. The candy dish on each table was good. They did a bad job of concealing the liquor behind the counter with construction paper. Only one dude did not wear any prom wear. The theme was Havana Nights.

The air was freezing and my feet hurt. It sucked.

BAHAHAHAHA, you basically just summed up my prom, but it wasn't just okay it was amazing. I was glad they didn't go all out on the Jungle theme. They had a couple of projectors with pictures of animals on the wall and the animal print table settings, but that was about it. We had awesome music. Mostly, pop music, but we had some techno, R&B, Hip Hop, and some other really good songs. They played Swing music and Salsa and the chaperons (teachers) started dancing it was pretty cool. We had this one guy who dressed really nice, but he wore a baseball cap and tilted it to the side... how classy. There were also these two hippie kids wearing tie dye suits which I thought was pretty cool. The food was amazing. Once the dancing started it felt like a club with the lights and all. The dancing could've been better (honestly, it looked like some of the kids were having sex on the dance floor). It got really hot at some points when there were a lot of people on the dance floor, so i tried to avoid the middle as much as possible. When we were leaving the guys got a deck of cards with the prom logo on it and the girls got picture frame box. Our after party was fun for like the first 30 minutes, but most of us got tired by then and we just crashed on the floor and reminisced about our whole day. All in all it was a great night.
