View Full Version : It's time to let go, bringsan90. Move On!!

Now, as I'm in my early 20's, it time to let go the things I thought it would last.
I want to fell in love of these, but it was only my illusion. It became like a fad to me.
So Over:

1. lost interest in video games. (Seriously)
I'm begining to gain other interest. Some I haven't paid attention for a while like reading and excerise more. Plus, I don't like the video game community today, anway. Too cultured. Too nerdy.

I'm getting tired why people think Video games are art, which it isn't anyway. Video game is different media entertainment by using interaction. Gameplay, not stories, makes it called a video "game". Darn it. :nag: Watch a movie because video games aren't movies.

2. lost interest in Final Fantasy (Why? Fanism and nonsense kills it for me
Final chapter is Final Fantasy XIII. I cannot continue the rest of the series. It's OVER!!
3. Lost interest in manga (except for a few:))
4. Lost interest in Today's music. ( well, not all of them:))
5. Lost interest in my PSP ( it's crap. I should have DSi. It got style and real gaming.)

6. Lost interest of watching these pointless-block buster movies.
the older movies are far better and orinigal. We never going to see this grandiose moive because Hollywood kept borrowing ideas and making comic/video games-style movies. Hollywood is doing this for the money :nag: patheic.

7. I hate these crappy young people fashion today. To rap, to ghetto, to nerdy, to gothic, to ....EVERYTHING!!!

Casual, conversitive, artistic clothes for me:wub: Now, I'm a fashion-fanitic.

8. I hate comic-books. Too fantasy, too unrealistic, and irrelvant.

I still like anime, but no so much.
Began to read graphic novels
Still, I love British and Japanese culture and their music. beautifully rich culture.
I'm still reading Game-Pro and Edge magazine, eventhough I stop playing video games.
Began to read Vogue, People, Lucky, Time, and some other magazines most of this majory don't read or have an interest at all.
I'm a little bit more serious,now since I'm 20 years old.
Fascinate in philosophy and astromology. ( Maybe that's why I love Sephiroth because he associate it.)

It looks like I'm having some kind of disease or just it's time to grow-up.

I don't know. What do you guys think?

I'm just a crazy girl who talk to much or just moving on to find better thing in my life?

Woah Woah Woah what the hell is the "8. I hate comic-books. Too fantasy, too unrealistic, and irrelvant." about there are a lot of quality comic books out there, don't judge them all on the super hero ones, for example the Mirror's Edge comics are awesome, same with Jerimiah (although you might just want to watch the series) there are plenty comics that aren't too unrealistic, and you said you still liked some managa's those are way more unrealistic and irrelevant then the majority of comics, I'll admit alot of the stuff is out there, but there is also alot of stuff that isn't don't turn down comics completely because of it

Oh yea and as for games, art no but a good story is welcomed, also play mirror's edge, it has awesome gameplay a good universe (althoght you might not get it all at first) and a crap story sounds like it's up your ally, but yea the story definitely takes a huge back seat to the gameplay

I get what you mean, I barely play xbox or Ps3 anymore and just go out with friends and watch movies on pc(usually the older ones too but some new ones are good like The Dark Knight), FF13 and versus will be my last, I hate getting pumped up by trailers at the age of 14 or 13 and then 4 years later I still know jack shit about them

I agree on gaming. Video games aren't meant for being "artistic". It all about fun and gameplay.

Is Mirror's Edge is for Wii, also?

I don't care what magazine you read! My fucking mother reads Vogue, and so does Paris fucking Hilton so it doesn't make you cool or whatever you think it achieves.

You hate comic books? For being unrealistic? I'm sorry but I don't think Spiderman was supposed to be based on a true story. Dumb fuck. Why don't you write a comic book on the American Civil War or something?

No. First off, it's not a joke. Second, I'm not contradicted myself. I'm not arguing, :P NOT FUNNY!!

I'm stoping video games for many reasons. No good games. Wasting time. Fanism. Bullcrap.
Final Fantasy XIII is my last game ever!!

I agree that there's some comic books aren't super hero related, and that I check them. But I stop reading the majority of it (super-hero related).

I'm serious. I just lost interest.

I found other interest. Now, I can finish "East of Eden" or start walking to the park.

Is Mirror's Edge is for Wii, also?

There's nothign wrong with a video game being artistic or having a good story, infact I think games need good storys that said they don't need alot of story in the game, I mean I'm really liking the Shadow of the Colossus story and there has been like less then 10 lines said by the main character, Mirror's edge is kinda similar, the main story is in need a bit but the universe around is great, but there's only like 12 short clips used to help load the next level and some dialog in game

and no Mirror's Edge not for Wii sorry, just PC, ps3 and 360, I recommend getting the PC version actually, even though I have the ps3 one, the PC version has enchanced graphics, easier controls (or so ppl say, I had no problems on ps3) and really recently I found out you can play player made maps on the PC, although it's kinda modding, it isn't supported, but it's not illegal either

I'm 20 in two months and seeing as me and Neal have the pleasure of owning every current generation console as of a few days ago, I can't say I'm losing interest in games. The culture has changed obviously but I wouldn't say it was "nerdier". It's just become full of gamers trying to defend their platform with retarded logic and suspicious loyalty to the companies making them. I swear half of them are so stubborn they're being paid off.

What in the fuck 0_o.

People who play video games don't have to play them 24/7 you fucking weirdo. Plenty of family people play video games. Millions more have jobs. You can be grown up and play video games.

Go ahead, grow up and read Catherine Cookson. Grow old and die boring.

Reading is not important unless you, ENJOY READING. What makes you think you can't play games, and read? There's 24 hours in a day. More than enough time to do both! Dumb shit.

Maybe all these simptoms are because you are turning into an adult or you lost your way in life, you don't know who you are or what you want and things you used to like now seem a little outdated...this is only natural "young adults" around your age go through this changes...well some of them others are too naive to notice, the point is that you don't have to panic just do what it feels is right...

Sweetheart, I just finished my college education yesterday. I will be graduating this Friday and will have a bachelor's in nursing. I will have my license to be a registered nurse hopefully by the end of May. And not once during those four long years of sweat, blood, vomit, mental breakdowns, and tears did I cease these "childish" things you said you are giving up. Sure my taste in some of those things changed, but I didn't go cold turkey altogether. Turning 20 doesn't mean nor make you the model adult.

This whole thread it total bullshit, people these days are trying too hard to act "grown-up"
just because people play video games, and partake in other interests is not bound to a certain age group. That is just plain ignorant.

My father, step-father, uncles all have families mind you, have well paying jobs, manage the family, but still mange to find time to play video games. So what's your point? I'm in college working towards my masters in Speech Pathology and I have a job and I still play video games.

People these days do not know the true meaning of being an "adult". To me age is nothing but a # and maturity is what truly counts in my book.

I just spent the last 13 hours of my life working at my "real job" with autistic children and finishing up paperwork for my boss. I didn't even have time to eat breakfast or lunch or step outside the building even once, for that matter. I just got home, took a shower, warmed up a hot dog, and settled into bed with my laptop and my playstation, hoping for a relaxing hour or so before I go to sleep and do it all again tomorrow. Let me assure you it is possible to be perfectly productive and industrious at a real job and still find time to play video games.

And you should really think about your audience when you post things like this. It doesn't really make sense to post a thread insulting the interests of everyone else here and trying to convince them you're better than they are because your interests suddenly changed.

I'm getting tired why people think Video games are art, which it isn't anyway. Video game is different media entertainment by using interaction. Gameplay, not stories, makes it called a video "game". Darn it. :nag: Watch a movie because video games aren't movies.

I'm an artist, and i must say that videogames are a form of art as well. It's kinda like a movie, the only difference is, you control characters and everything is in 3d or whatever. It IS art because games are conceptualized just like songs, artworks, etc. It's a higher form of art, you know....or maybe you just don't have an idea on what art really is, miss.

Try to lighten up a little. I understand that when people get a little bit older, they become like that. But 20 is still a young age, try not to get serious all the time. Don't waste your precious youth. Just enjoy. It's not wrong for adults to play games, you know. Even my old man still plays soul calibur with me. Enjoy life. Don't be in such a hurry.

Ignorance is bliss right? As an artist myself I just had to reply.

I suppose you think because you read vogue, that your understanding of the artistic world is any better than anyone elses. News flash for the stereotypical "I just turned 20 and I understand the world much better than anyone ever will!", a hobo's understanding of art is just as correct as mine.

To even think your understanding is better, contradicts the very definition of art. You are a nobody and your judgment of what is art and what isn't will never be the status quo.

So get off your high horse, and realize you're paddling in the same shit as everybody else. Only difference being that some of us are able to turn twenty without thinking we've just become the next Aristotle, or that the epiphany we think we've just had is at all important in any aspect of life. Interests change naturally, yet if you want to force them to fit in with your new 'styled' reality then you're just another sheep in the crowd you seem to hate. Another one of those, I can only express myself by wearing flowers around my head and dustbin bags around my torso. There's a reason society moved on from the stone-age, and that's because we have the technology to do so.

Do you honestly think that if we went back in time to the 1950's (lack of knowledge here but the point will stand), gave them the technology to make movies like now instead of the quality they had back then, that they wouldn't accept it? Do you think that if we went back to the victorian times and hand fed them these modern, easier life-styles they'd grunt and say "NO THANKS, I ENJOY MY ARGOR AND BUCKET FOR POOPING IN".

I don't know if I've just run off track, chances are I have, but I'm sure most of those points are good enough.

I'm in college now, and things are different now in my life. I'm getting balanced in my life.
Honestly, I'm moving on from video games after FFXIII. I need to focus other things right now.

P.S. Anybody aren't juding why I like Vouge , becasue I'm an Art major. I like everything Art-related, including fashion. what's wrong with it?

I assume when you say balancing, that doesn't include any type of gaming activity, (doesn't include activities which associate as non video games), but what i can't understand is why you say you despise all games now, and how the industry within this area, the fans etc... have panned out and how they react and the games they produce now, yet you are persistently waiting for one certain game which wont be out of Japan until Q2-Q4 of 2010.

All i can personally see is somebody who has stuck to one genre of the industry, and your not exactly helping anybody by giving specific's other than saying it's 'nerdy' etc...
All it does is offend people, and all the impression i get is that you think the industry has turned into a shit tip and that because you are now 20, your are considered too old to be associating or liking any thing within video gaming because you are 'balancing' your life.

I'm doing basically everything you are (minus Vouge); currently doing an Art Course and heading for Distinction marks, yet i still play video games.
My priorities are fine and well sorted, and ironically, 'balanced', things have changed yes, but i still have time for the things i like.
But the difference is, i don't say I'm at a certain age where i have to disregard games because I'm an adult, then reply in the most fucking stupid and immature way possible, making me look like an idiot and completely contradicting my words written beforehand.

I never really understood not flushing. Yes sure, you're proud of the giant roll of shit you just gave birth to, amazing, perhaps it's the biggest you've ever had the good fortune of creating. But unfortunately every other person to see this 'giganticus' isn't going to be as impressed. Takes a few seconds to press the flush button and watch it sink to the depths.

European toilets tend to have this ledge, so when you take a crap it doesn't fall into the water straight away. Instead you have to flush it off of the ledge into the water hole. Just in case you wanted to know what just came out of you. THERE IS NO LOGIC BEHIND THIS.

Cactus Girl

You know what I love is the toilets at the O'Hare airport in Chicago. There's a plastic seat cover already on the seat, and if you push a button, the plastic that's on it rolls up into a discard container and a new plastic seat cover replaces it. XD

The non-flush issue was also present at my school (there I always went to the toilet first thing before class, when they still had the seats up from being cleaned the night before), but then once someone drew smiley faces on the tiles in menstrual blood. And if that wasn't disturbing enough, the school thought it was too much for someone to have done alone.

I don't see how clean my cats can be, they clean themselves with their spit. Would anyone here say I had clean hands if I just licked them?

Little Miss Scarlett

I remember when I went to Japan, I was stuck in a toilet for almost ten minutes because I wouldn't leave till I could work out how to flush it, because I'm such a bloody clean freak. Toilet seats suck bigtime in public toilets in my country. Some people even step on them. Most of the flushes aren't working, gaddemmet. Also, i'm so sick of seeing 'piss droplets' on the toilet seat. People don't know how to wipe, or maybe it's because of the absence of the holy toilet paper. That's why i bring my own supply of 'em. Sometimes i have to hover when it's way too dirty.

..when i was in japan, i once encountered one that plays nursery rhymes when you flush. Freaky. The sight of your dump being whirled around by the water while a snippet of old mcdonald plays in the background. HOE MY GAWD. :wtf:

I never use toilets in my school, unless one of my fagy friends ask me to go with him (yes, it happens all the weeks, i dont really know if its normal), i learned to keep it until i arrive home. Really, I dont understand how many students of my school use that blasphemy. It creeps me out. My metrofagy friend is always complaining why girlsbathroom have a dryer while boys´s hasnt.
A 4/5 years ago i needed urently to go tho the bathroom( in other school), i tryed but after look to that grafited walls and waves of flys flying i decided to go to another bathroom. I dont remenber exactly how but i ended up to open a girls´s toilet door. That bathroom was always with the door closed, no one used it because everyone assumed that it was locked and unopeartional.
Aparently it had been locked during 3/4 months and it was operational again, few students knew that. I wonder if me and my friends were the only ones who knew it.
In the end i got my private bathroom on that school, it was clean because almost no one used it and no one knew( expet a few friends) that i frequent a girl´s toilet beacause the door wasnt in a very frequented place. sweeet......

The toilets in my school I can handle (I only have one more day of school anyway). For our final years at school, we got our own toilets (for our year) so they weren't too bad.

The toilets at some gigs I go to (in London mainly) are just beyond disgusting though. I swear some people don't even try to aim at the hole, for ANY bodily function. They're like fucking war zones. The only floor not covered in crap and urine are the places that the urine and crap have been displaced by your feet. Seriously, if you go to gigs in London, go to the toilet elsewhere first...

I went to a lot of different schools and the toilets where always a mess, most of them looked and especially like they were just cleaned once a week. Their never was any toilet paper and you couldnt get something from the teachers. So basically no one used the toilets but they were still a mess.

But it seems some people always have enough boredom and nothing better to do than to smutch something although no one even uses that place anymore.

Fortunately the toilets at my job a really clean and my colleagues can behave themselves and dont act like they want to swim in their own dirt.

In Germany public toilets are a no go most of the time. You dont even think of using one except in big malls or things like that where they are cleaned really often.

The only floor not covered in crap and urine are the places that the urine and crap have been displaced by your feet. Seriously, if you go to gigs in London, go to the toilet elsewhere first...

I feel your pain for those toilets. The first thought would be, is that mud on the floor but OH NO, don't be fooled.

See, East Metro Perth, you sit on a public toilet, you're likely to get a needle in your arse.

i think the most disgusting toilet i've seen was in the movie trainspotting, the scene where ewan mcgregor drops the drugs in the public toilet and starts digging through shit to get it back.

i dont remember very well cause its been years since i saw the movie, but it was a good movie... just not for a delicate audience.

I remenber that in my old school papertowel was removed from toilets because students usually steal it. So, whenever you wanted to go to the bathroom you had to ask for papertowel from your teachers( theren was papertowel in each secretarys´s classroom)

"How many sheets?"

WTF?! Who care about Paris Hiltion?

I'm involving into the world, now. I care about talking care of my sister more than talking shitty fiticional characters.

Who cares about Xbox 360 or PS3? They just shit hardware, but people are bitching about it. Some people needs to get a life. It just toys to play with.

One reason I'm out this video game community. Because of you!!

I care about my PS3 but you are right .
Gaming doesnt have to control your whole life just let it play a little role in it.
You can evolve into the world en play games too :)
Its up too you to figure out a good balance.

The OP was essentially an elaborate "I'm leaving" post.

Anyway, we've had our fun but it's time to move on.
