I don't think it has anything to do with taking it to seriously. Think about it you just dumped what like 45 hrs into a game. Then when you see the ending and Tidus and Yuna don't end up together. Its pretty depressing.

I haven't dared play it yet what with still being in counselling from Aeris' death in VII and all.

I stopped playing that game for a week after sephiroth stabbed aeris, i was like 9 and it was mind shattering. Because in every other game that i had played up to that point the good characters always lived, it blew my mind.

i was mostly sad because the game was over, but I didn't want it to end. That was solved simply by replaying the game. I do agree that the ending was good, and I felt sorry for them. Depressed? Not really.

Depressed is a gross exaggeration but brief passing sadness, maybe. It was a great story and I got pretty into it so I was happy rather than sad after the, IMO, fantastic ending. It's a nice example of what games can do that other mediums can't. Controlling characters and guiding them through events rather then merely watching or reading them definitely allows for stronger attachments to form to a game story and characters.

It was brilliant. Plus for all the crying fans they made you FF X-2 and they made them hot so that everybody else would play it too. But still the ending was really sad but it was brillant.

I missed the characters for a few hours, but depressed? Nope.
That said, I'm never playing X-2, as much as I liked X.

You're talking about FFX? It was great! I felt achievement after finishing it. Not depression.

i honeslty hated that game, the fact that the whole game was a fucking 'sidequest' forced me to just take the game out. They look like a trio of sluts running around trying to find their pimp..wtf?

I know what your saying, but I found the game to be fun, although nothing to take seriously in the least, just sit back laugh and play some of the mini games

I was 11 years old, and I danced and rejoiced when I found out Aeris was murdered. I've never been happier in any of my gaming experiences. :'(
I've met people that cried because FF5's Galuf died. Claiming his death to be "manly tears!!" Pft if I wasn't moved by Aeris' death I'm especially not going to be moved by the death of an amnesiac geezer.

well... its just a matter of opinion but i would say that it wasnt exactly depressing. More of just fleeting sadness... and that last part of yuna's speech was uplifting and touching.... depressing? probably not but heartwarming? maybe
besides... you see tidus swimming to the surface at the end... there was probably some sort of message to be sent by making that scene
You guys are heartless robots ):

It was hilarious. Two annoying bitch teenagers were forced to be separated in the midst of their hormone-driven illusion of love. How could people not find that funny?

i was kind of like... how can someone soooo annoying and stupid not be real. it takes someone very disturbed to dream a character like tidus. he was, in my opinion, the worst ff main character. still the ending was kind of depressing.

My favorite part was when Yuna fell on her face.
The best part in the entire game.

My favorite part was when Yuna fell on her face.
...RIGHT ON.
Her face is very depressing, and seeing her fall, trip, get hit, get ko'ed is such a wonderful sight.
