Vanille's Costume Based on African Tribe?

I was doing some research for a new character I was designing and I notice something really interesting. Vanille's costume design shows a striking resembles that of the Himba people of Namibia.

Apart from her top and boots the designs are pretty close. I wonder if the Nomura used African tribes like these as reference for the Pulse character outfits.

I'm not sure of what the forums rules are about posting these sort of things but the following picture contains nudity just in case anyone is offended by that sort of thing.:whistle:

There's nothing wrong with using real life examples to aid in game design. In fact it would be kinda hard not to. However in this example it seems like Nomura did copy paste job instead of using his source material as a starting point to develop his own design.
