Ok so I'm getting pretty bored of my collection of music. was wondering if anyone could point me towards a newer band where the members are alive and still playing... all the bands I like are either gone from the earth or tour every 5 years.

Here's some of the stuff I listen to now: Hendrix, Marley, Zeppelin, Wes Montgomery (+ other random Bebop), Sublime, Rage Against the Machine, Steel Pulse, Aerosmith (the old stuff), Ben Harper (Already saw him - awesome), Dream Theater, Stevie Ray Vaughan... I have a LOT more, but I listen to all of my cd's so often I'm in need of some fresh music...

I'm pretty flexible, but I just don't know how to find stuff. All of my friends either just listen to the radio (which only plays top 40/hits that go in one ear and out the other) or listen to the same stuff that I do...

Any suggestions?

Use teh internetz. I ain't gonna sit here and give you a list, but here's some blogs I find new music on (all of them have a middling-to-low success rate of having anything good up, but that's better than most places to be honest).

I use the internet. Skulk around last.fm for ideas or just look at what other people on here are listening to.

or just type in some of your fav bands at pandora.com and it will play some beats that are similar to song/album/artist you entered and why it plays it

I'd recommend Pandora.com as well. I have found ALOT of good music that I'd never heard of on there.
