Precedence: in FF9 Eiko's pet moogle does a limit break trance thing against a boss, then transforms into an Eidolon, I believe Maduin or some shit.

I don't know... But the only thing that I don't realy understand is the fact that the baby chocobe needs to grow, and at some point will be as big as a normal chocobo. I wonder how Sazh is going to care him/her ... So it's possible that the cute chocobo will die!

It's been stated that chocobos won't be used as transportation this time around.

but AFAIK that doesn't mean there won't be other larger ones
