I've seen some really nice quality direct-feed screenshots from the FFXIII demo, but Versus' trailer seems to only exist as low-quality HD video and captures taken from said video. It'd be nice to see screens of the realtime section without nasty compression artifacts, and would probably help people who want to make signatures/wallpapers/etc. from it.
Does anyone have the equipment to do this? (Or just a link to a site that's already done it?)

We do. Was planning on recording some Resi 5 later on for Neal's friend anyway. Post the screenshots you want in better quality and I'll see what i can do.

I'm mostly interested in the facial closeups, as well as a medium-range shot for each of them that shows the details of their outfits. Thanks for offering. ^^

Direct feed = taken straight from the PS3 playing the trailer.
Looking at those images again, I think they might be direct feed rather than taken from a compressed trailer - but they're compressed so much that they might as well not be. For my purposes, 60KB JPEGs aren't very useful, unfortunately. ^^; What I was thinking about was something more like uncompressed PNGs, sorry.

After taking lots of screens this is what I have: http://finalfantasy-xiii.net/media/trailerscreens/Versus-Directfeed.zip
They aren't great quality even though they're uncompressed. Three reasons for this. Firstly you can't record from the PS3 through HDMI because of copy protection. You can capture through component but it's slightly worse quality. I have to capture through component then convert it to HDMI so it can connect to the PC. You can't avoid this unless you're a company which owns a PS3 Dev kit, an HDMI stripped which is really expensive and illegal or a Blu-ray player without HDCP.
Secondly you can't capture it uncompressed unless you have an unholy PC which won't die under the strain. I captured it using Photo Jpeg which is almost exactly the same quality though.
Thirdly, I think Square-Enix compressed the trailer themselves anyway. It's not what I would call 100% quality even on the TV. Not sure why they would compress a trailer they're putting on Blu-ray but whatever.
Anyway, I hope they're of use to someone.

Thanks. ^_^
The only thing is, they're really dark, which doesn't seem like a logical result of either component video or JPEG compression. Are they supposed to be like that?

Good question. Not sure why that is. The video I took looks fine. Maybe it's how VLC takes screenshots. I'd upload the vid but it came out at about 1GB. I'll see what I can do in the morning.

Well, if it's VLC that's the problem, I found a workaround for you:
This page (http://winhowto.blogspot.com/2006/08/printscreen-while-watching-movie.html) explains how to force your video card to let you take screenshots of movies using the Print Screen button.
