There is something that has confuse me so far with Final Fantasy Versus XIII. In that latest 'trailer', Stella explains the legend of Tenebrae about the Goddess Etro welcoming the souls of the dead and that a bright light will be seen and it will award with power which is the 'light'. Now my question is, is the Goddess Etro the Shinigami (Death Goddess)? Or two seperated deities?
I remember that Nomura had said that the painting wasn't of Etro, so it means that indeed they are two seperated deities?

I think, they both have the same goddess, just that they have a some kind of different tale, about them. If that goddess on the painting is not Etro but another gogįddes, maybe that goddes in the painting is just an semi-god or something.
There`s only 1 Death goddess (at least thats what its ben said :wtf: ) we have to wait to have some more info on it

Yes, it is quite confusing... And I remember from the trailer line saying something about an herectic order, so perhaps there are two god/goddesses or so.

That and order exist, does not mean that, there must exist 2 gods/goddesses , they could perfectly worship one god alone, but in a different way^_^

Letīs not forget that japanese donīt have single god entity (rather whole pantheon of nature deities), so itīs quite possible that there are many shinigamies (or something like that). And donīt forget-itīs Final Fantasy, there are no rules!
