What is your favorite type of beer?... If you don't like beer then your favorite Alcoholic Beverage... if you don't drink alcohol the your favorite beverage...
For beer though I can't decide between Linenkugels and Spaten: Oktoberfest... Spaten you can drink hot but Linenkugels tastes like fruit loops... Both you can't really get at any major store though... at least where I live. You gotta go to a family liquor store or Bevmo!

favorite beverage...
Given the parameters you set for discussion, I wonder why you didn't just go with that for the thread title.

I don't mind Heineken, Bavaria, Stella Artois but if I have the choice...
Guinness
Captain Morgans
Jameson
They're my drinks, and when I have money and I feel like treating myself, I'll go with a White Russian, but yeah that's pretty rare these days.

I don't really care about a beer. As long as it's not white beer. Heiniken is the preferred, but personally all beer tastes like shite.
I prefer a 12 year Glenlivet scotch on the rocks.

Heineken, San Miguel and Red Horse. Coors tastes okay too. I also like mixed drinks.

^ That pretty much sums up what I was going to say. ^_^
I rarely drink, but from what little taste experience I do have to draw from, Guinness is definitely near the top of my list.

I have bad luck with guinness... There's always something wrong with it whenever I drink it... It's either been sitting out of the fridge for too long or its been open for way too long (for my tastes at least).
Odin clones: Is strongbow a beer? I'm just asking cause I've never heard of it and if it is, I'd like to try it...
And to whiplash: Yeah that would have been a better idea, but my initial thought was about beer. After it occurred to me that a lot of people don't like beer I just started adding things and posted...

I find that a little odd, I mean a lot of people can stand beer but find Guinness foul. I myself dislike Guiness more than beer. Sometimes however a beer is like, yeah hits the spot. But mostly it's just, WHY AM I DRINKING THIS SHIT. But anyway, been a while since I drank guiness, forgotten the taste.
There are easier ways to get drunk if that's a goal, so it kind of skips me when I see people downing beer to get drunk.

It's just something traditional. There are more places in the world that make their own beer (taking into account all the different types) than any other alcoholic beverage... And you can play beer pong...

Honestly the myth that guinness doesn't taste as good outside of Ireland is true, they never know how to pour it properly either. And yeah it's kind of an acquired taste, people either love it or can't stomach it it's always one or the other. Also it's a stout and tastes nothing remotely similar to beer.
And Strongbow is a cider.

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if most beer-drinkers thought it was 'foul' tasting. :D

I've never had it out of a can.
The few times I've tasted it have been off the tap in American bars.
Honestly the myth that guinness doesn't taste as good outside of Ireland is true, they never know how to pour it properly either.
My beer tastes are hardly 'well-traveled', but I've had it in American bars and it tasted pretty damn good to me.
The next time I'm in Ireland I'll have to test that theory out. :aldo:

A friend introduced me to Guinness and after the first glass I was like "WTF IS THIS STUFF :awesome:".
Maybe I've got warped taste buds or something. :patriot:

Guissness from a tap's the best, your not supposed to have it from a can( it's really shitty) and your supposed to let it settle in a glass, then it's savage.
Then Heineken or Miller or Coors light
Tysky 5%
Then other crap like Bavaria, Dutch Gold etc.
I believe the best drunk is Druid's 6% or Devil's bit 6% they're more fun drinks...

I thought it was a lame tradition. I've gotten to a stage where I manage to feel sick before I start feeling drunk when it comes to beer. Completely missing the point of the "fun" outcome. That in mind, if I'm not sitting at a bar stool, beer is usually all I'll be drinking.

I used to get sick of it too, but my friends take beer bong hits every single day, so I kind of got peer pressured into drinking it. After drinking so much of it I've just acquired the taste to the point where it's the same as drinking soda... sort of...
But all this talk about Guinness is making me want some... for real... I'm gonna have a glass at the bar my friend's playing at on Saturday...
Question though for The Brat Prince: How am I supposed to tell if they're pouring it correctly?

I am from the Czech Republic so I (of course) like czech beer...any czech beer espetially when is draught (or as you say here "on tap"):D I donīt know how much you guys are familiar with our brands, so Iīll just try it (because some of our beer is exported). I like Pilsner Urquell most...donīt know if you know that name.
From the imports...Heineken isnīt so bad and in hot summer nights is really good to have Hoegaarden (from Holland...served with citrus, really light beer with sauer taste rather than bitter).

That's a lot of flavors for 1 brand of drink.
Another things I noticed on one of the other wiki pages was that Fanta is the second beverage to be produced from Coca-Cola after the original Coca-Cola. Also, it was created as a substitute for Nazi Germany during WWII due to import restrictions... interesting...

beer is beer for me. Altough tuborg is a safe bet in both taste and price class. Altough I do try out some corona for special occasions. But a good beer for me is a cheap one, Iīm quite greedy when spending money on myself other than clothes and food. A couple of my friends stick to a local brewery called "Tou", but there is limits for me, because this one tasts to bitter. Considering iīm not legal until next year, I canīt go around being so particular.
