ya so were all confused why the hell it looks like theres a motorcycle engine on good ol' nocts sword

any of you goof ff fans have an idea of wats on his sword and why?

I don't know what it's made of, but it's a ripoff of Nero's sword in Devil May Cry 4. There might have been a sword like that before, but that's the only one that I've seen so far.

They stated (SQEX) that the were made of crystals and they are 13 swords.

and the motor=shivas ???

It's an engine sword. It's also made of metals. I don't see why it might be anything else. It's not that complicated to notice it's an engine on a sword.

If you closely there are engines on all of them, don't know why yet but give it time, there made outta crystal and metal i'd say cause they're shiny and have a metalic colour he also has about 40 weapons(swords,guns,halbeards,spears,lances,axes) so far.

...yeah, it looks like an engine. I wonder if the sword's appearance depend on the wielder's personality or whatever....

Maybe Square Enix thinks a sword between Motor cicle makes motor sounds is much cooler as a normal sword. But somehow originally idea, but it' s looks somehow strange =/

I agree. It's an embarrassingly blatant ripoff.

Maybe Square Enix thinks a sword between Motor cicle makes motor sounds is much cooler as a normal sword.

Other than going *vroom* *vroom* I haven't noticed it having any other function in combat.

Maybe it vibrates? :awesome:

Well this wouldn't be the first time a motorcycle sword was invented. Apparently it's been all the rage with this console generation. DMC4's Nero has a motorcycle sword. But the sword suits him: a toolish sword for a tool.

No, Nero's sword spat napalm and heated up when the clutch was held. No-one knows what Noct's sword will do.

Anyway the first time Nocts engine was shown was E3 06 and Neros was TGS 06 so they coudn't have copied DMC, or am I wrong with the dates?

Noctis's sword was shown before DMC4 was even revealed.

We first saw his sword in E3 2006 trailer, then Devil May Cry 4 was announced in March 2007.
