notice the discoloration? isnt this the effect that 2d pictures have to make it look 3d when looking through special glasses? i also remember sony mentioning somethnig about the PS3 supporting 3D sometime in the future.

hmm interesting....though right now im leaning towards a more non-consequential explanation and that square-enix only did this for dramatic effect for quickly transitioning between scenes during the trailer. though it could be a possibility..

also it was noticed here: http://psinsider.e-mpire.com/index.php?categoryid=17&m_articles_articleid=1175

Just shit effects I think. They did a similar thing for Advent Children.

I doubt it's 3D, the 3D effect only requires red and blue, the green is completely arbitrary and probably just a space waster if it were a 3D effect intended.

But I still have my 3D glasses for that episode of Medium. :awesome: Give me about 5 minutes.

Pfft, all I got out of that was a headache and some sort of inexplicable joy in making Noctits appear ginger. :wtf:

lulz Shuyu just lulz.
Square-enix simply got super happy with the video editor. They had one hell of time though considering the first minute of the trailer made me go :wtf:

look who cares about that really (the discoloration)? besides all the new trailers were just what was described to us months ago and until FFXIII is released or near its release date nobody's gonna pay that much attention to versus and agito. it's the same thing that's going on with the three kingdom hearts games that were anounced at about the same time.

Like I said before, we are aware of how they market their games, we just like to poke fun at things because it's fun and keeps us interested. Don't take everything so seriously here okay. (Or you going to have a rude awakening)

I'm pretty sure this is English, because I don't know Chinese.

Unless I do know Chinese and no one told me? ):

i think they were going with the feel of looking through a crystal. the crystal shards that nocts abilities produce also shine with those colors.

Actually, it's possible. Sony has already played around with the idea of 3d glasses for games (thankfully not using those cheap-ass paper ones). And although it is an awesome and possible speculation, I unfortunately doubt it.

That would be a nice option to have. I support it!

Everyone's doing that kind of effect for game trailers now, look at a 2009 trailer for any action or FPS game and flashy effects are all over the place (prototype, assassin's Creed 2, Killzone 2, Infamous...)

Sorry guys, 3D is not gonna happen. The colors in the trailer are just an effect called chromatic aberration. The whole thing is about the failure of a lens to focus all colors to the same point. To a cinematographer this can be an undesired addition, but in motion graphics it can be used as a very nice effect.
