Themes of Battle - Opinions

What do you guys think of the battle themes :). Like that famous E3 06 normal battle theme. And the more drammatic boss theme that has that piano playing then it fully goes into the orchestra.

IIRC, the boss theme was okay. As for the normal battles, i found it kinda jarring that both contenders for battle music (from the original and the latest trailers) were playing over each other as one theme.

I'd prefer it if they used the original remix rather than the one in 2006 E3 trailer. IMO the original remix would of suited the normal battle theme more.

Wow thanks for that boss theme. I don't really like the normal battle theme, but I'll wait until I hear it when I receive the demo. A lot of people say that the E306 battle theme is edited and sounds a lot better?

I love both themes. I think the battle music sounds a lot like the classic Uematsu stuff. If it was synthesised I think it would sound like it was from an older FF.

I like the battle theme all around. I think it fits pretty well and it sounds good too.

For the boss theme, I like the song, but I don't really think it fits as a standard boss battle theme.

I love all the music i heard, Demo's usually feature different music so maybe some will change for the final version.

Also most FF's have several Boss and Battle themes so if they keep these there will still be loads more awesome ones.

I listened carefully to all the tracks, and I love them all.

IMO he's better than Uematsu. What else did he compose?

SaGa Frontier 2, Unlimited SaGa, some stuff for FFX, Dirge of Cerberus, Sigma Harmonics.

Personally, I never cared for Uematsu. Hamauzu is the shit.

Uematsu is the most overrated composer ever. He can write memorable melodies, but usually the biggest part of an FF soundtrack is not so good. I hear the fanboys/girls often say "Uematsu really made the best part of the FFX soundtrack, such as To Zanarkand and Suteki Da Ne". In my opinion, the rest of his contributions to FFX were simply crap. However, Hamauzu shined in that soundtrack and I'm happy he will do FFXIII.

Yeah, Hamauzu dares to take risk, like these battle themes with smooth transitions from piano to orchestra,... Or he composes something very bad, or he composes something very good, and nothing in between. And for XIII, it sounds very good.

Also, isn't he the composer of al those background tracks for the PlayOnline Viewer?

Does anyone have the lightning area theme with the crazy violin part? I can't find it on youtube (well, it is there, but without the violin part).

It's incomplete and they need to tweek the battle theme, the main theme. Let me explain.

It starts off the Rhythm in 5/4 and plays the theme, then it goes into a Rock style arrangements, with some fast snares DnB style and same Rhythm then starts over what?

It need either chorus section or a repeat of the Rhythm again with an alternate violin solo part on top then varation AND then it can start over.

It just sounds incomplete as it is with out a chorus section or even a varation section. Who knows what else will be in the game though. Everything sounds fantastic!

better explanation of why the Main Battle theme is incomplete(shit are they going to leave like that?)

*ending sequence that just goes back to first section* (arrg) so damn short!

what would work ending sequence that introduces new section with Solo Violin varation or same 4/4 beat wtih DnB style drumming and something on top *new theme*

now we can go back to first section again and repeat it all over again.

Yea it kinda sound's like the main theme of the game, wouldn't be suprised if it's a temporary battle theme.

The whole piece is in 4/4>_< I do agree that the ending sequence is quite short however, but the battles are short, so I don't think it should extend more.

ANd, I remember reading somewhere that the battle theme was already the final version.
