As you may know I hate Nintendo Wii. :cunning: And i really dont understand why its so popular.

Someone with one plz tell me whats so good about them. I played that Wario Ware game and it was UTTER CRAP. Not even anything to do with Wario or Mario, it was just mini games. o_O

The top of the Nintendo Wii chart in the UK is Wii Play - a controller with mini games on it. :lol: What does that say about the games :rolleyes:?

I keep spending my Wii money on other things. Pants, amazon.com crap, and games I will never open.

Get Earthbound, Secret of Mana, and Super Mario RPG on that Virtual Console, Nintendo! You failing me.

They are easy to understand games that have been simplified they are complicated. More so because they are simple (and affordable) everyone can play. Its also a system of innovation. To really get into it deeper, there is no other console like it and with TP to show what it is capable of, I dont see how the graphics or gameplay are underrated.

Finally there about games to just play, not get hooked or slaved over. Basically the Wii is like WoW

- Simple
- Worth playing
- Anyone can play it
- cost effecitve
- Innovative systems and game mechanics.

whereas PS3 is like FFXI (ironic aye and yes I am a ffxi veteran).

- Hardcore players
- Kicks itself in the crotch due to the price hike in system and games.
- Takes unnecessary risks
- repetious
- Bad reputation

well, Wii's supposedly social, but some games require you'r attention so much you really can't communicate with your mate very much. also, a your mate's controller beeing waved in the wrong direction can quickly smash your phone or camera if it is in your pocket. and you really can't interrupt what you are doing, my dad's workmate tried it, and when he attempted to scratch his head, it all went to $£€#¤%. also, the straps are so bad they tend to snap in a swing and annihilate your telly, window or whatever is in it's direction, and it is impossible to play in a rom with a low concrete cieling. furthermore, excaggerated moves has proven to be able to dislocate your knee. ending the summary of negative's with a kid who had to sew four stiches in his forehead after beeing hit. the controllrs speaker is poor and the general sound,along with the graphics, are mediocre compared to PS3 and 360.

the positive things are that it can get your big, fat ass out of the couch and make you move a little, have fun with the gameplay and watching other's looking stupid in the middle of the livingroom.

I agree with you, Desi, what's so great with the wii? is it because it's JUST fun to swing around with a tv remote?

have you seen how on the Wii adverts, they make it seem like the average Wii player will have a massively wide living room for space to play tennis, and a just as rediculously high ceiling to swing your virtual sword.

The Wii is nice because it offers a different experience and games for the non-gamer crowd. I'm not a part of the non-gamer crowd and I spent so much work trying to master the current controller setup of the past generations; the Wii isn't something I want right now(gimmie secret of mana!). I can see it pretty much being a very dominant force in the current generation due to its mass appeal as stated above by Wind. Being a very private gamer though, this doesn't really matter too me. But I got some new shoes!!

Personally I don't like Wii and from what I can see most of you aren't too fond of it either. I'd really hate to see Nintendo go down, but I have a feeling it may just happen. Most of their games and consoles looks like it's targetted for little kids. They make it simple and all because I think it's for kids. My neighbor has one and he says it's fun for parties. I played bowling on it and it was okay (I hate bowling IRL XD), but I kept feeling like the controller was over sensitive. Also, when I'm playing a game I want to relax and chill. Just play a nice RPG or what not. Lol. Wii is trying to make me lose weight! (I'm pretty underweight as it is!)

I dont necessarily hate the wii, but Im not an avvid fan of it either. Basically I think that the Wii is like the Gamecube, The GC started off great, and with its new disc system everyone was piping for it, but after a couple years, it got so hard to buy a game, cos they just never apealed to people anymore, Owners wrote in to magazines saying the games were either childish, boring, or too short and I think thats also whats gonna happen to the Wii so thats why I aint gonna be getting a Wii. And for for crying out loud "Wii"????

Like Kaze I don't hate the Wii by any means, I just don't think I'd buy one. It's a good idea, like with the DS the Wii is innovative but theres a point where their new gimmick can get old. With the DS many developers have stopped even using the touchscreen as a touchscreen because it just isn't practical to use with many games. If the Wii had better graphics instead of just being an overclocked gamecube I might actually consider getting one, partly because there are some gamecube remakes I'd like to play but it doesn't seem enough to buy it.

But at least its cheap :P

hmm yesterday i went to a friend's house and played some wii

jesus, now my arm is hurting like hell~

i can say that playing for few hours with some friends is hella funny ^^
i think after some days i would end up like those soccer players with destroyed knee....but arm in my case~ XD

well im still waiting more games to be announced and released to decide which one to get....but i dont expect any game of my taste being released on WIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!! !!!!

Yeah sorry its true. He does use a barel in this game but there still could be boxes. I couldnt find a decent picture of him in the barel as I've lost the trailer but you can sort of make it out here :P

The Wii does look pretty tiring actually. Not really something you'd play to relax :P and yes the graphics...main reason why I don't want one.

I beat Twilight Princess for my friend today. Yeah I am going to buy the GC version instead. I need camera control and some of the things were a pain to pull off with the Wiimote

example: it keeps saying I need to aim the wiimote at the screen when i used a ranged attack, shield bashing wouldn't activate when i needed it, and the wiimote doesn't do much.

I think one of them was because "Wii" doesnt need to be abreviated and because its easy to understand in all languages. It's also supposed to mean "We" as in everyone playing together and the reason its spelt with two i's is because it looks like two people standing next to each other.

I think Revolutions was much better though.

but wii, it's like woody woodpecker as the japanese internet guide some 11 years back: "touch woody - the internet pecker" in mean, wii/wee, the name just sucks. the true reason why nintendo made it was to make an übercheap console that anyone could play. a little boring if you're sitting in a wheelchair with certain genetic conditions...

I've enjoyed playing Wii Sports on my friend's Wii, but it's not a console that I would want to buy myself. I don't hate the machine, it just doesn't have any games that I really want.

I think Nintendo have really shot themselves in the foot by making the machine so technically underpowered. Wii games don't look anywhere near as good (on a technical level) as PS3 or 360 games and the gap will only increase as the years go by. The lack of advanced processor power also means Wii games will not have as good physics, AI etc which will become increasingly more important in future games.

The Wii is a fun machine, but for me it's PS3 because of the following:

Final Fantasy XIII (obviously!)
Final Fantasy Versus XIII (also obviosly!)
Metal Gear Solid 4
Ninja Gaiden Sigma
Heavenly Sword
Uncharted: Drakes Fortune (previously known as the newNaughty Dog game)
Motorstorm
White Knight Story

Although I would consider buying a 360 for Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey.

I actually bought a Wii. (If I would have said that statement just two months ago I would have laughed). Seriously, I was like the people who just didn't think it was anything special. But I've been hearing such good things about it and I decided it'd be cool to have a change in gaming for awhile (I mean, I have a job, so I have the money, so I said why not).

And I certainly haven't been disappointed (that could also be due to because all I've really played so far is Twilight Princess). That game is phenominal, and the Wiimote and Nunchuk actually blend well with the game. I can't wait for Super Smash Bros. Brawl, it should be great. Also, the VC games are cool. It's nice going back and playing all the classics.

Not like the Wii is my cup of coffee or anything, because I'm getting a PS3 in a few months (I'm currently still saving for an HDTV), but it's a nice outlet until I get my PS3 and all it's amazing games comes out (MGS4, DMC4, RE5, FFXIII, FFVXIII, Heavenly Sword, etc.)

Yeah :D I loved RE4 but they took out some things that made it Resident Evil... I hope its similar but not so different to the others this time.
