FFXIII Battle Theme Question

How long do you guys think it'll be when the battle theme for FFXIII starts hitting the net? Because the one for Star Ocean: The Last Hope was just immediately. Even months prior to the game release.

some people (on Youtube) seem to think the actiony music from the trailer is/would be a good battle theme...

Any ideas where the two tracks from the website would fit in? /hijack thread ;)

haven't you already heard the theme That Nobuo did? The Music to the first trailer then arranged to more 80's style with violin on top. An orchestra version, with horns taking up the main melody. (The music that plays in the last trailer during the battle scenes) same theme of FFXIII where else would that music go?

Of course that wouldn't be the only one in a game of that size there would be have DnB style stuff and rock etc. Also special Boss pieces.

From what I heard of the last trailer there is 3 arrangements that could be used in the game, then the main battle piece is playing during the fight scenes. Which is the Main theme for the game(same melody) arranged in 5/4 with orchestra in a fast tempo.

It cannot be said enough, There is NO theme by Uematsu released so far!! It's all by Masashi Hamauzu. Uematsu will only do the vocal theme. As for Star Ocean 4, that battle theme came on a promotional cd released with Infinite Undiscovery, so it didn't leak out, it was officialy released. We'll just have to wait 15 days and we can hear the FFXIII battle theme.

Sounds like Uematsu to me! Sounds exactly like his music from FFVIII, and Lost Odyssey they must have worked together it's exactly like his music , it even sounds like music already written LOL!
There all buds they probably share ideas themes all the time in bizz^_-
Actually Masashi Hamauzu was maybe asked to compose music to sound like Uematsu? (past FF games)
Pretty sure that's the battle music you don't compose music in a game for nothing it has to play some where.

I dunno bout that. But it's just as they say. The entire main FFXIII OST will be done by Hamauzu. The only theme that Uematsu will do is the vocal theme song. It's doubtful that he was "asked" to compose for this main game.

Just understand that Hamauzu got started by actually going to Square Enix and was trained by Uematsu, so there's bound to be some similarities.

Dirge in general was ugggggghhhhh. But it'd be downright moronic to judge him based on that one game, now, wouldn't it?

When you look up "overrated" in a dictionary, Nobuo Uematsu's picture is there.

----That was the one game I know he was the main composer in. There were other games too that I thought about, mainly Final Fantasy X and Sigma Harmonics. I fear that since he composed for one of the VII compilation and also is composing for one of the XIII compilation that the soundtrack may end up not as memorable. For any compilation having to do with the title "Final Fantasy", I'm a little worried. I suggest you try and see if you'd enjoy Sigma Harmonics's soundtrack.

But to be honest, I liked A Proposal from Dirge's soundtrack...

all the music we heard until now absolutely composed by hamazu...if you check his past works u will feel similarity in the arrangements and the instrumentals ..specially the violin one from the first trailer... i think nobuo's job in this game is like XII , will compose the intro and the theme song only.

I can't imagine that you think it sounds the same.:ohmy: And Hamauzu is not a kind of pupil from Uematsu.

As for Dirge, some of you may find it ugggh, but It is, whether you can accept it or not, musically one of the deepest musical scores of a videogame to date. It may not be enjoyable, but it is miles ahead of, for example, Ishimoto's cringe-worthy crisis core.

Dirge is fantastic if you are a classical musician and if you like early 20th century classical music. Keep in mind that Hamauzu himself said that he found it difficult, since the game was dark. FFXIII is less dark so I will think the score will be a lot lighter.

Oh, this is the last sentence of Hamauzu's FFX soundtrack's liner notes: "If I will ever get a chance like this again, I'll promise you some fine results."

So, I'll trust Hamauzu.:D
