I know Heath did a descent job, but for critic's viewpoint, it wasn't memorible.
The make-up and the effects help him and .......

"Why, I'm so serious....."

Really?

It can't stand for these famous movies lines:

"Here's looking at you kid"

"I'm going to make him an offer he can't refuse"

"Let the force be with you"

"Go ahead, make my day"

"Fasten your seatbelts, it's going to be a bumpy ride"

"They call me Mister Tibbs!"

"You can't handle the truth!"

These line aren't just excellent lines. You can really relate to this if watch these movies. It has a meaning to it.

Being serious isn't really a great line. Not meaningful. Not dramatic at all. Sorry.

Better than his Supporting Actor adversaries, he certainly was. And you can't judge an acting just because of a line. I couldn't care less about that Why So Serious shite, I just wanted to see The Joker. But Mark Hamill's still the best Joker ever

Whoa there now, Luri. Have you seen Tropic Thunder? Robert Downey Jr. played an excellent dude who played the dude who's disguised as another dude.

he was good, no where near as good as everyone seems to be making him out to be though
tends to happen when people die though, people start overrating them and you look "bad" for saying other wise, cause you aren't respecting them or some shit

he really made that character. it was a really good performance of a very complicated character.

you quoted wrong, the quote is "why so serious?" and i LOVE it. besides, that was a cool pencil trick, lolololol

Yeah how can YOU be taken serious when you don't even quote right!

It has nothing to do with his death. He played the role of Joker and did it in a very good way. Anyone saying they didn't think the Joker from Dark Knight was fucked up (in the way he should be) does not understand acting.

I'm not saying that the other Supporting Actor-nominated roles were bad, but that Ledger's performance certainly was superior than them. Because when you watch his Joker, you can't even see a trace of Ledger, or even a slightly hint of bad acting. It's The Joker as he was meant to be.

I thought Ledger did an excellent job in that movie. He truly stole the show. However I do think Robert Downey Jr. did an excellent job as well. I could not tell it was him until I looked the movie up in wiki.

So I was torn between the two, however, I do think someone who deserved it got the award.

If he hadn't have died this film would never have gotten it's acclaim.
It was a good movie, not epic :wtf:

Heath was EXCELLENT. (quite literally) Can't say the same about the movie. I liked it but I thought it could be better.

Well put it this way... The Dark Knight is kind of like FF VII.

Overrated.

I thought that Heath did a great job. This is what The Joker should have been. Just like in the comic books when he first appeared. He doesnt need any sort of back story (looks at Jack Nicholson), hes just a phsycopath.

It's hard for some people to not think his praise of being a Joker has to do with his death. It just so happens that he passed away before the movie ended and he just did a great job. I'm gonna go with Cat on this one, i was a good movie (for the most part) but not like OMG BEST MOVIE EVAR. Heath made that movie, if he wasn't in it the movie would be boring as hell.

idont think heath made the movie, its not a question that his performance was amazing but i also loved the movie itself

it was very well writen compared to other batman movies, and i like batman movies

i was looking forward to this movie since it was announced it started shooting so my looking forward to seeing had nothing to do with the hype some people made because of his death.

my sister dislikes batman movies, and she didnt want to see this one because of his death and she ended up seeing it with me and some friends and really liked it a lot. the script and the plot were very well thought of in my opinion. nice work
