From the Japanese magazine leak
-The demo play time will exceed an hour, and there's different ways you can play through it
- The camera can be moved freely during an event (cutscene)
- Development of the game is progressing well
- There's a good lookin guy yet to be revealed
- The three characters (which everyone seems to hate) are just sub characters, not main characters.
Interview scan is up, and so is a translation of the details not mentioned in the blog
More stuff:
-There are five members of Team Nora, the fifth doesn't appear in the demo. The reason is that he's too cool (think I got that, weird regardless).
-The meaning of "Nora" is "Stray Dog's field" or something, might just be "Stray".
-In the demo you can't go up to the place where Lightning and Snow meet.
-The person used for Lebro's motion capture had to be sensual/erotic for Lebro.
-Starting this year, the demo is the beginning of the "FFXIII legend".
-When asked about the delay of DQIX and influences of FFXIII, Toriyama basically says that the game is doing well enough for it to make a 2009 release.
The interview also includes Ikeda Nao, who was a subcharacter designer for some other stuff. So she designed the Team Nora group (besides Snow)? credit - Rpgmonkey @ GAF

Sounds good, all of it - Especially about those three characters.
Speaking of new FFXIII info, doesn't the latest Famitsu have a Nomura interview related to FNC? I read that it's supposed to, but I haven't seen anything about it yet.

i still dont think the scans are up yet though, so when they are, hopefully Blank can have a look at them and clarify the info

Well. while we're waiting, let's speculate:
What do they mean by 'sub characters' - does that mean they are like guests ?
Another character yet to be revealed - so how many playables are there? We have 4 already, so 6?7? or more like VI ?

- There's a good lookin guy yet to be revealed
:awesome:
Just what the game needed! Gadoo or whatever is ugly, Marquee is a kid, Sazh is too old, and Snow is a big doof. Hopefully the hot guy is a main character and is in the demo.
That guy from the Cloud book sketch maybe?
- The three characters (which everyone seems to hate) are just sub characters, not main characters.
Darn, I kinda liked them.

Means they're not main characters in the game, more like support characters
so whether that means they're in it for just a short time, or are controlled only by the computer (like guests from previous FF title) i dunno, maybe we can know more when the scan is on the internet
I have no idea about how many playable characters in the game, it's good to guess =D

Sub characters are probably only there for that first part of the game. After that you'll leave them/they die.
We've got what, four main characters confirmed? I'd guess that guy that was in the Jump Festa trailer that they haven't "revealed" yet is the "good looking character."
I doubt this game will have as many characters as FFVI. It's not terribly uncommon for you to get a good portion of your total character count in the first part of a game. I'd say a total of at 7-9 seems likely at this point. We've got four confirmed, excluding these three "Nora" characters, plus the other guy which is probably the last Nora character (probably the guy from the JF trailer.)

Oh okay - yeah I do see Team Nora getting ditched early on. Also, a smaller party like ~7 people would probably be more manageable.

But aren't they rebelli-
Well, a GAF member did have a good point about the bridge collapse looking pretty nasty, possibly killing some people.
I recall something about Snow falling in the Jump Festa trailer after saving the Marquis kid. That may have something to do with it, they just get left behind entirely. Ditched, even if it's not intentional.
Anyway, what I just grasped was this:- The demo play time will exceed an hour, and there's different ways you can play through it
So does this mean choices actually mean something in a game? A demo with multiple endings? I'm curious how well they pull this off, and wonder what that says about the full game.
Does anyone know when FF13 is comeing to PS3 in the Us? I would really love to know! I think FF kicks butt all the way!:PIf the President of SquareEnix is to be believed, sometime in SE's fiscal year 2010, meaning April 2010 at the earliest, March 2011 at the latest.

That's probably it. You know, this game is getting more and more alike VII.
Now we have got a rebellion group and all!! Hey where's the crazy guy with a huge sword?? hope we will get as much party members as in VII.
I guess that the biggest number they will create of characters is 9. 12 is too much and maybe they want the player to freely choose his three 3-member party.
BTW YAY for support characters.

I think teh demo has two playable scenarios.
In one you play as Snow and in the other you play as Lightning.
I do not think there will be multiple choises.
All is not lost, though. FFXIII director Motomu Toriyama had some calming words in an interview in this week's Famitsu. Development on FFXIII is still progressing towards a 2009 release and is going smoothly, he told the magazine. He also noted that that the the game's demo version, which will be included with the Japanese release of Final Fantasy Advent Children Complete in April, was finished in December.
Famitsu also got Toriyama to spill a bit about the demo. Players will be able to play for about an hour, he said, confirming past reports at a sizable play experience. There may actually be a multi-faceted side to the demo, as Toriyama revealed that Snow and Lightning will not meet during the course of the demo. Players will be able to enjoy the stories for the two characters separately.
Furthermore, because the full battle system is included in the demo, Toriyama expects players to find a lot of replay value. Despite the inclusion of the full battle system, though, he assured that the battles we see in the final version of the game will be evolved even further.
First off, afro guy, Sazh. This character is like nothing ever seen in the series and appears to have caused quite the impact, said Toriyama. He admitted to being a bit worried. In Toriyama's mind, Sazh is bright and full of expression, and also has a comical element about him.
Don't like Sazh? Well, you'd better get used to him, because Toriyama also revealed that Sazh has the most lines in the game! For his voice actor (presumably the Japanese version), Square Enix made use of a veteran who was given freedom to ad-lib.
Sazh and Lightning come to know one another at the outset of the game's story following some big happening, explained Toriyama. They did not know each other prior to that.
One of the reasons Sazh's unveiling caused quite the stir was due to the baby Chocobo he keeps in his afro. The Chocobo caused a big reaction, explained Toriyama, and the development staff is now considering giving it more time in the game. He joked that while the Chocobo does not appear in battle, he's currently in negotiations with the battle team about this.
Our latest update on FFXIII detailed Nora, a group comprised in part by four members: Snow, Lebreau, Maqui, and Gadot (these are the official Romanized names, as listed in Famitsu). Famitsu confirms that Snow is the leader of this group, whose name comes from the Japanese word for stray dog (nora-inu). There's actually a hidden meaning in the name, Toriyama explained, but players will not learn it until events that take place after the demo.
Those four members mentioned above will be encountered in the demo version of FFXIII. But when playing the final version, players will encounter a fifth member, whom Toriyama joked was too cool to be revealed just yet.

Lebreau, Maqui and Gadot... so they're French? Oh, why not. I'm glad about Maqui and Gadot not being playable, but I liked Lebreau. Oh well, never thought they were mains anyway, it'd be weird for half the main cast to come from the same place. I hope this new character's good... hopefully they'll be able to pull 'cool' off properly.
I'm really looking forward to Sazh, I always like the more lighthearted characters. And fuck yessss we might get the chocobo in battle!

'Sup guys :). Just got back from IGN X BOX 360. They have some interesting tidbits considering the demo and many other things, their nation's release.
Were you concerned when Square Enix (http://games.ign.com/objects/546/546688.html) president Yoichi Wada told investors that Dragon Quest IX's Japanese delay to July might have an effect on the release of FFXIII? If not, what's wrong with you? Any delay in the Japanese release of the game almost assuredly means a delay outside of Japan as well!
Of course, Wada and the other Squenix suits will likely have the final say on when FFXIII gets released, but it's certainly good to hear that the game is coming along.
Furthermore, because the full battle system is included in the demo, Toriyama expects players to find a lot of replay value. Despite the inclusion of the full battle system, though, he assured that the battles we see in the final version of the game will be evolved even further.
Joining Toriyama in the interview session was FFXIII character designer Nao Ikeda. The two shared a few details on some of the recently announced characters and story elements.

One of the reasons Sazh's unveiling caused quite the stir was due to the baby Chocobo he keeps in his afro. He joked that while the Chocobo does not appear in battle, he's currently in negotiations with the battle team about this.

Famitsu confirms that Snow is the leader of this group, whose name comes from the Japanese word for stray dog (nora-inu). There's actually a hidden meaning in the name, Toriyama explained, but players will not learn it until events that take place after the demo.
Ikeda shared some background on Nora, explaining that it was formed by youths who do not like being controlled by the holy government. Their major activity involves fighting off monsters, but they consider their role of protecting the city as somewhat of an enjoyable sport. The residents of the city place great trust in them.
Monsters? Yes, Cocoon has monsters, and one of the holy government army's jobs is to deal with them. The "PSICOM" soldiers, mentioned in the last trailer, deal primarily with fighting monsters and rarely face off against human foes.
The members of Nora have made it their business to save people who are being force migrated to Pulse because it turns out that their city, which is located by the shore, is believed to have taken influence from Pulse and is being purged. The members of Nora hope to stop that.
Those four members mentioned above will be encountered in the demo version of FFXIII. But when playing the final version, players will encounter a fifth member, whom Toriyama joked was too cool to be revealed just yet.
We can do without the fifth character as long as we get to at long last get our hands on FFXIII. The April Japanese demo can't come soon enough!

Don't like Sazh? Well, you'd better get used to him, because Toriyama also revealed that Sazh has the most lines in the game! For his voice actor (presumably the Japanese version), Square Enix made use of a veteran who was given freedom to ad-lib
I've already gotten used to him. He's cool!

No doubt. What's there to "not" like about Sazh. He has the qualities of a comedic person (stated in IGN), and also his seriousness side. Which may be from actors like; Will Smith etc...

Now I'm thinking about Will Smith as Sahz's VA.
And it doesn't fit at all.

Dont get your hopes to high everybody, There's always a chance that the demo sucks.. it would be nice if they surprised everybody with a trailer of Versus with gameplay footage.. i think i'd rather have that than the actual demo

I'd hope so too, but because XIII is going to release first they should hype the FAN more about it. Don't forget that there are 3 trailers & I think they're new for each FNC series coming along with demo disc or maybe with FFACC disc itself.

It would be nice if we'll get the 2 stories in the final version, too. And I finally like Sazh, he does look cool. I hope they'll put the baby chocobo in the game. They could have some animal/human ability like FFX-2. They weren't powerful at all, but they were interesting and funny. It would be cool if you could name your Chocobo

Remenber that scene, in Final Fantasy Spirits Within ( the best part of the movie) when everyone is sitting and an alarm voice says: "Please leave the basement. We are under atack" Everyone looks to each other and they dont know what to do and then someone says: "I think we have to leave". Thatīs comic relief, i bet Sazh will be used as comic relief.

If you don't have anything to say just don't post. Saying "I don't care about the demo I want Versus footage" is completely useless. If you want to talk about how desperate you are to see some new footage just go in the Versus forum, this is the wrong place :awesome:

I think I read the whole of this thread, but oh well.
The only extra stuff I found on my own readthrough was some stuff about Nora.
According to Ikeda, the theme they had for Nora's members was "sports type." For Gadou, the key words she was given were "full of muscle and sinew, but more than a heavy-weight type, he should be like a coiled spring." Gadou is a mix of NBA and hiphop ideas. His square shaped necklace says "POSSE" on it.
Lebreau is a southen asian resort-type, whose clothes are a mix of a bathing suit, hotpants and a short pareo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pareo) and whose theme sports are beach volleyball, paragliding and aquatic activities. It seems she may be carrying potions in a waist pouch (I'm sorry, Famitsu, I don't see it, nor anywhere for her to be hiding it?).
Maqui was living the introverted life of a shut-in in his own room, spending his time tapping wireless transmissions and tinkering with machines. Snow was the one who got him out of that sort of lifestyle, and he respects Snow more than anyone else. His sport concept is skiwear. He has a complex about his body, which looks quite young considering his actual age (and also shrimpy), so he tries to hide it with his clothes. Combat is not his expertise, and he won't be participating in the battle party.

I agree. I think he'll be fun to watch. :D
I forgot, but the red markings on Maqui's jacket are Nora's logo blown up huge. I'm not sure if Famitsu is speculating or not, but they say the green armband on Maqui's right arm is to mimic the one Snow has on his left. I believe they say both Nora's logo and the armband are handmade by Maqui. He seems to idolize Snow and Nora both.
Also, I'm pretty sure it says that all the people living in the costal region where Snow's village is are Nora(Strays).

<電撃PS>

Maybe some more here ?
from there;
- 'fal'Cie' are beyond all humanity, and are connected to the crystals. One of the fal'Cie created Coccoon
- 'l'Cie' are people chosen by the 'fal'Cie' to take a Focus, and the 'l'Cie' are marked to show their identity
- While the peace of everyday is shattered, Lightning and Co must battle on because they are chosen as 'l'Cie' to carry out a Focus
- The 'fal'Cie' exist only because the crystal desires it so, and because of that the human belief of the 'fal'Cie' existence in the game might not be correct
- Agito and Versus will share 'Fal'Cie'/'l'Cie' terms, but it wont mean the same thing
-Cocoon in real life would be the size of America. and Pulse would be as big as the Earth. Cocoon is basically a massive sphere covered in a shield. The cities and everything within Cocoon are designed to be a technologically advanced world by the 'Fal'Cie'. The 'Fal'Cie' completely influences Cocoon so it can enrich the lives of those within. The 'Fal'Cie' power also is how it is able to float,. On the boundary of Cocoon to the outer world, there's a Sun-like 'Fal'Cie', and so from within looking out, you will see blue skys etc
-Nora is designed by Ikeda. Because the game is 'next gen' she was very conscious of putting in all the details.
-Marqui was originally an introvert, but Snow came and pulled him away from that life, so Marqui began to respect Snow greatly for it. This is why there are similarities between their costume design, because Marqui copied many elements from Snows clothes (such as the gloves, and the arm band etc) Marqui is quite self concious, and wears many clothes to hide his slim frame. The headseat he wears to contact other Nora members, and the goggles are a Nora design creation.
-Lebreau design is inspired by butterflies, and Asia beach resorts. This is also where Nora headquarters are located, a beach. And so this is why Lebreau where's such little clothing. She's mature for her age, and is motherly within Nora.
-Gadot design was quite specific- shorter than Snow, younger, heavily built - but not to Barret (FFVII) proportion. It was tricky to create him correctly. His theme is 'Fire' - which is shown with his hair, and tattoo. His design was created to oppose Snow's 'Ice' (Shiva) design, yet they share similar personality traits (hot blooded) so they're not really all that different.
-Demo lasts just over 1 hour. But there is a Battle Rank system in the battles, so to complete the rankings you need to play through more than once.
-Final product will have more complete battle system, but they will present a lot of depth with the system in the demo. (For instance, they unlock magic within the demo that in the full game you won't get until later on, just to make the demo more fun in battle) Strategic thinking in battle will make battles look cooler, better visuals.
-Baby Chocobo is a character you will want to look out for. And they're thinking of putting it in battle somehow.
The next issue has more information about the demo, and more of this interview.

If they try to do a Devil May Cry kind of ranking system, it'll just suck because this doesn't fit with Final Fantasy at all.
It shouldn't be about how "cool" or fast you beat your opponents just to do a battle over and over again, till you got them down perfectly, thats just a crappy way to make a game "raplay-able".

It's just something more that doesn't disturb anyone. A side quest just like beating a boss, I don't see the problem.
I had a question though. I remember that someone (I think Blank) said that Lebreau acted like an older sister with Lighting (or Lighting acted like an older sister to her), but how can she if they don't know each other? If Lighting and Snow team up just because of common goals and not because they like each other, how can cold Lighting get attached to her?

You beat the crap out of a real hard boss and you're glad you finally WON the god damn fight and then you get ranked the lowest -> receive a crappy item.
I just think it'll be shitty if you get better stuff if you fight in a different/"better" way, because you might have to fight over and over and over again. I don't wanna do the same boss ten times just to get the fucking sword you get if you get ranked the highest.

Fuck then don't do it. It's like getting the perfect game, you don't have to. Probably if you get the highest score (or however the system works) you'll get the rarest object or the strongest weapon but who cares, you can finish the game even without it. It's just a side quest like everyhing else...
I'd rather have this system to get the cool sword instead of FFXII system with its crazy %-related dropping system.
It's like KH2, when you have to finish the cups in a short amount of time...
Munkya
Feb 28 2009, 03:36 PM
With the difference, that you don't have a choice, do you?
You're gonna get ranked no matter what, the only thing you "decide" is on how high you get ranked.
And it's going to be one hell of a lot fun to rush trough a game at the lowest ranking all the time, best game ever.
Sanji
Feb 28 2009, 04:07 PM
I can't get your point. Really, I can't. It's a sidequest. If you want to do it, then do it and have fun; if you think it's stupid or you don't find it fun to beat the same boss multiple times then just don't it and go on with the story.
And about the ranking, I can't see your point there too. It's just a reward if you beat the boss in a particular way or if you use certain techniques. In all the previous FF there was no reward and still you play them, don't you? The only difference is that now they give you a reward if you beat that boss in a certain way, otherwise it's just like older FF.
Munkya
Feb 28 2009, 04:39 PM
You're gonna get ranked, even if you think it's stupid and don't want to, you're gonna get ranked. It's not a sidequest to do, because it's going to be troughout the whole game (It's just what I assume here, don't get me wrong).
So yes, if you don't care about rare items and things like that it's fine to walk through a game that constantly tells you that you suck at fighting, you're right.
But if you want to collect these things and make it to 100% (or whatever) you just fight, fight, fight till you fight the perfect way.
Don't get me wrong I don't hate the ranking system itself but if you get rewarded for it (AND you care), you have to fight till the end of days, and that's what bothers me.
Sanji
Feb 28 2009, 05:01 PM
The game doesn't tell you that you suck at fighting. It tells you that you did only what was necessary and nothing more. If you want more, you have to beat it again quicker/using abilites etc. It's a reward for a special thing you do. I think it's quite different.
I still don't get your point on the amount of fighting you have to do. You're gonna have to fight tons of time anyway, ranking system or not. You may get bored of beating the SAME monster all the time. Personally, I couldn't care less. Optional bosses are there just to have their ass kicked, it doesn't really matter what they look like.

DengekiPS: Can you explain the keywords of this game, "l'Cie" and "fal'Cie"?
Toriyama: "fal'Cie" is beyond humanity and associated with the crystal. fal'Cie is not only one being but many, and one of them stepped up to created Cocoon. "l'Cie" are people chosen by fal'Cie to take on a Focus and a marking of their identity. Lightning and the others become chosen as "l'Cie" and each of them must take on their destiny and fight. While peaceful everyday lives are shattered at every corner, they must fight, and move forward no matter what the cost is. That is how the story will go. The reason of existence of fal'Cie is only because the crystal desires them, so the explanations given from the human point of view in the story might not be completely true. fal'Cie and l'Cie might exist in "Versus XIII" and "Agito XIII" also, but their purposes will definitely differ in each game.
DengekiPS: Cocoon is the main setting of the beginning of the game, but how large will it be if it existed in real life?
Toriyama: If brought into this world, Cocoon will be about the size of North America. The underworld Pulse is about as large as Earth itself. The shape of Cocoon is close if we describe it as a massive circular object surrounded by a circular shield. The futuristic cities and nature within the shield is the world fal'Cie created as its' technological world. On the border of the outside world and Cocoon exists a sun-like fal'Cie, so a blue sky can be seen from inside. Thanks to fal'Cie's power, Cocoon is able to stay aloft. Cocoon's fal'Cie's purpose is to enrich people's lives, so it influences many unique features of Cocoon. Please look forward to the journey in Cocoon to find out what the other fal'Cie are.
DengekiPS: Ms. Ikeda, we've heard you are the character designer of Snow.
Ikeda: Right after I finished work for Dawn of Mana, I was given the opportunity to design characters for FFXIII. All of these are completely different from what I've done before, so in the beginning I threw in everything I could to find a comfortable spot to start off at. Since this is on a next-gen console, I've designed every little detail possible.
DegekiPS: Please let us know a bit more about the members of Nora.
Ikeda: First of all Maqui, he has a history where he was an introvert and always stayed home until Snow came to pull him out. Since then he started to respect Snow greatly. That's why his outfit is styled like Snow more than other members. For example Maqui has a brassard on to copy how Snow's left sleeve is like, and his gloves are similar also. He is seen in many layers because he wants to hide his slim body that he finds embarrassing, compared to Snow's powerful and muscular body. His pair of headphones are used for radio transmissions between Nora members, and his goggles and tool satchel is his identification as the proud Nora mechanic.
Lebreau's colors and other motifs are inspired from the images of butterflies flying along an asian beach resort. Since the town where Nora's headquarters are located is along the beach, I've designed her to wear a swimsuit with short-shorts and a cardigan-like top. She talks and acts much more mature for her age, and sometimes acts as if she's the mother of Nora (laughs). Gadot was required to be "shorter than Snow, but more macho. On the young side for age, and not as big as FFVII's Barret" and I had a lot of trouble with that. In the end he became in-between the two, and has a reverse-traingle type body. Also like his hair and his tattoo represents, his motif is "fire", and he is supposed to be opposite of Snow who has a motif of ice. They both are hot-blooded, so I can't really say they're truly opposite though... (laughs)
DengekiPS: How much of the game will we enjoy with the demo?
Toriyama: If played normally from the opening of the story, you can enjoy it for a little over an hour. We've included a system where a battle rank is shown after every battle, and if you want to complete that, you would have to play it through a couple times. Also, the field system's concept is "live", so if you don't spin the free camera to look around, you might miss some cutscenes. We'd be happy to have you take time to search through the corners of the field for them.
Dengeki PS: Do we get the basic parts of the battle system?
Toriyama: Yes, and the battles will be at the same speed as shown in recent trailers. Of course we'll include more features in the final product, but you will be able to enjoy the basic but fun mechanics. Magic actually takes some progression into the game until they become available, but in the demo, we wanted you to see how cool the battle system is, so we included them from the start. We want you to see the new battle system where thinking strategically will lead to more cool-looking visuals and actions. Right now we are thinking that including Sazh's baby chocobo in combat somehow in the final product will make it more interesting. That baby chocobo is in many recollection scenes, and interacts and gets along with many other characters, so it actually is one of the important characters in the game. It's one of the characters you'd want to look out for.
Degeki PS: Please give out a message to those waiting for the demo.
Toriyama: Everyone has waited for so long, but we'll finally be able to release something playable. With "FF7ACC". Please wait a bit more for the April 16th release. The development of the product version is going very well also!
(Dengeki comment: In the next issue we'll have more interviews from Mr. Toriyama and Ms. Ikeda! We'll also have more information on the demo and characters.)
From FF-XIII.net.
I like the details from the characters.

Missable cutscenes..? I love/hate them. They're by far the best incentive for me replay a game, and give you the best possible reason to look around places, but I always hate feeling like I'm missing out on something.

Haha, nice.
Sounds pretty cool tbh, so hopefully it'll feel really new and fun to play.
I already like the look of the battle system, and how you can do so many moves in one turn. Seems awesome, and the storyline will no doubt be great. :D
Let's just hope Versus is awesome too. It certainly looks it, and Square seem to specialise in love stories, so it'll be awesome. :D

Well, if they really were talking about the actual cutscenes - the story-critical bits where the camera is highly controlled to show things in as dramatic a way as possible - it'd be possible to miss a lot by having camera control.
However, I'm pretty sure that those are still going to be completely controlled, and the field cutscenes are something different. They'd be kind of like easter eggs - if you're looking in the right place at the right time, you'll see extra little scenes or something. In that case, you might be able to miss some of those little scenes if you're not looking when they happen.

I think it will be something like the "Tales of" games. In those games sometimes an icon appeared at the bottom and when you press it. The characters start talking with each other about what's currently going on.
And my favorite part:
"Maqui, he has a history where he was an introvert and always stayed home:D until Snow came to pull him out^_^. Since then he started to respect Snow greatly. That's why his outfit is styled like Snow more than other members."
" he wants to hide his slim body that he finds embarrassing>_<, compared to Snow's powerful and muscular body. :)
If I look at my life. I'm just as Maqui^_^ (I'm serious. And I hope the SNow who who's going to pull my out of my house will be female.
And more:
" Since the town where Nora's headquarters are located is along the beach."
"The reason why Lebro is sexy looking is because her motion actress was sexy"
"Nora comes off of norainu, or stray dog in Japanese."
"The demo doesn't go up to the point where Lightning and Snow meet.":nag:

Better to save your money than waste it on the demo bundled with the movie. For how much it costs, that's the entire game itself right there if you were to import.
I'm saving my money for the import. Beats wasting it on a movie that sucked, and gameplay videos of the demo will be up on YouTube in hours after the movie's release. So... no sense in wasting money.

"Don't like Sazh? Well, you'd better get used to him, because Toriyama also revealed that Sazh has the most lines in the game! "
Damn. I really don't like him.
"Those four members mentioned above will be encountered in the demo version of FFXIII. But when playing the final version, players will encounter a fifth member, whom Toriyama joked was too cool to be revealed just yet. "
Damn. I'm already curious...
"There's actually a hidden meaning in the name, Toriyama explained, but players will not learn it until events that take place after the demo. "
I hope we'll get to see at least one new trailer this month. Something like the E3 08 trailler. With some new content.

Depends how they handle it. In the MGS series (in 2-4) you can mess with the camera a little and in 3 and 4 they'd give a little hint button so you knew when you should start looking for something and I think aside from one or two most of the little "secrets" aren't too hard to see.

In the trailer, Lightning talks after Snow. Ya know, in the bit of conversation about Serah? I only think it's Marqui since we've heard everyone else talk in the trailer except for him, and the voice sounds like a distressed teenage boy.
(I'm entering speculation mode now.) I wouldn't be surprised if he had some importance later in the game. I think in the interview, it said that Gadot and Lebreau had interesting and unique movements and battle but couldn't be used whenever. Meaning they're temps. But Marqui doesn't fight at all. Also, it seems like he has the most back story of the 3 and a deep connectiopn with Snow. Just look at his description in comparison to the other two. I also wonder what he means by, "That was a l'cie's power... WE'RE l'cie now." Looking at the trailer, Snow doesn't have the l'cie mark he has at the crystal lake (http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2009/008/928790_20090109_screen017.jpg). Could he be talking about himself and Snow suddenly being made l'cie? Hmm...<_<
Damn. All this speculation makes me hope SE starts to get scatterbrained with their advertising like with Versus. I don't wanna correctly guess half the plot points before I play the game.

It's definitely Lebreau's voice saying the line about the soldiers being no match for them. Sound like Snow's voice though for the Psicom line. The full length version of the JF trailer was more in sync with the voices according to Blank too.

I can tell for 99% sure the line about turning into L'cie was not part of the ice area bitchslapping fest. They were fighting over what happened in the past to someone else, who is named Sera, who we know nothing about.
Oh yeah, also I think I recall reading that the green thing at the beginning of the trailer is what starts the whole story.

My guess is that that trailer will never be shown again un-edited/in that exact format, as SE was presenting it as a 'special gift' type thing to the Jump Festa attendees. It smelled pretty exclusive. They may show something that has the exact same contents, just rearranged though.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. :)
The green thing probably either is, or has some close relation to Sera (from what i can tell and what seems to make sense to me), so that seems likely. It'll be interesting to see if that thing is the crystal, or maybe protects the crystal. I still can't decide if I think it's alive or an intelligent machine or not, assuming it isn't the crystal.

Whatever it was that I read made it seem like the Fal'cie were more spiritual than physical, but that was just what I got out of it. Then the relationship between the crystals and the Fal'cie was something about one existing because the other wanted them to, but I don't remember which had which role. In either case, the crystals being alive in some sense does fit.
Two crystals also sounds right. I thought I saw something about Cocoon and Pulse each having a crystal.
I don't remember where I saw those though, it may have been here, or some crap on Wikipedia or something.
Off topic, since this is the news section, earlier someone on NeoGAF mentioned new Famitsu scans showing team Nora. I'm not sure if they meant new to them (old scans) or actual new scans though. Since they haven't shown up here I'm guessing they aren't actually new, but I figured I'd mention it.

didn't know it was a "special gift" though even if it is a remake of the jf trailer (my god, now they're even doing remakes of trailers nowadays;)) it's still almost the same thing as the original, and I think it would be more unlikely for them to show a trailer that's completely new rather than showing something that has already been shown at the CMT.
