Ff13 or GOW 3?

This thread is so gonna die soon. To answer your question, while I don't care much about both games anyway, GoW3 would be better. Straight-up, no wherefores.

I admit I haven't played the first two games, but I checked out that God of War III trailer that people were drooling over and I didn't really see what all of the fuss was about. Then again, I typically don't care much for those types of action games, making my choice in this case FFXIII by default.

On the other hand, if it were something like the Metroid Prime Wii-make or FFXIII... my opinion might be different.

If you were to compare them (before they are even released, silly), FFXIII would win hands down, the GoW games are good but way to short $60 for 10 hours of gameplay is BS, LIKE 99% of games out there.

^ I think this whole length/quality/price debate will resolve itself over time.

If 10 hour games were truly BS, there would be no need to argue the point. The market would do it for us!

I personally prefer games with at least 20 hours in a single run, but shorter games clearly have a place on the shelves too.

Please, any two games can be compared through all attributes that each game has, the only one that cannot be compared is the battle system in each game. They can only be assessed by their predecessors or other games which comply within the same genre of the game.

Doesn't matter man if you have played GoW you wouldn't be complaining about length. It delivers an experience that is truely fun and jaw droping. Anyway Action games are always 10-20 hours max, but you're forgeting that usually you dont finish with an action game in just one playthrough. I spend 90 hours on DMC4 (finished all difficulties) and i still havn't completed bloody palace.

I went with FFXIII because of content, which is why I enjoy FF games among others.

God of War III. Final Fantasy, to me, never really had that epic starting, middle and end, but it's still a good series, just not as good as GoW. :aldo:

I think gow is more memorible than ff right now, seeing as the games where made quite close to each other and how far apart ffs games r released. plus the fact as the last few ff games were not that good as they should have been only makes them less memorible. I guess cause gow is a trilogy it will loss the intrest in the future and hopefully ff games will continue to get better.

GoW3 graphics are awesome. It's no KZ2 but it doesn't need to be, as long as the gameplay, design and story are as good (or even better) than its predecessors (can't see them mess this up). For me some FF games are more memorable such as FF7 and FFX than GoW, but i doubt FFXIII... since it seems alot like FF12 which i found mostly dull and forgettable.

Anyway i'll buy both :)

I've lost interest in GOWIII after I saw the recent trailers for it. Jaffe said it looks incredible and then in the actual trailer it looks meh at best. I loved GOWII (havent played the first one) but I'll pass on the 3rd one.

I am more of an RPG player, but when it comes to quality Sony Santa Monica studios have made a great job with Gow series. GoW and Gow II are two of the best games on the PlayStation 2.

Also, I have read that Insomniac and Naughty Dog helped with the development of God of War III.
I have big expectaions for this game.


We always heap plenty of praise upon the SCEA Santa Monica team when it comes to the God of War franchise, but in regards to the third and final installation of the wildly popular series, we have to extend our thanks to a few other inside parties.
According to French gaming magazine PSM3, both Naughty Dog and Insomniac have contribued to GoWIII's development. If you didn't already know, Naughty Dog is responsible for the stellar Uncharted: Drake's Fortune (and the upcoming Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, of course), and Insomniac is well known for the long-running and critically acclaimed Ratchet and Clank franchise. So when you sit down and play the final majesty that is God of War III, you should hand your appreciation to what is amounting to the "big 3" under Sony's umbrella. Although previous directors David Jaffe and Cory Balrog aren't back to work on this project, they've got plenty of talented help, don't you think? And once this game is done, how's about they get together for another project? We're not entirely sure what kind of role Naughty Dog and Insomniac had, but any influence at all means they get their names in the credits, and are deserving of respect. Now, all we need is more GoWIII gameplay details, and - oh dear God, please - a release date.
For the record, GameStop is listing a March 2010 launch for the game, and we expect that to stay right where it is unless SCEA surprises us at E3, or something.
