Lightning Isn't the true Lightning !

I don't really know what makes me think this way, But what I'm sure of it is that Lightning of the present time isn't Lightning from the past. I mean there is something forced her to get involved in what she is rightnow but I think before those changes happen to her, she was living in peace with her family or friends or whatever with diferent personality and different appearance ....I mean there is something changed her into this!!

My question is , How she did feel and look before she got involved in this mission?Why?

1) Different appearance but same personality.

2) A personality like Yuna , Aerith.

3) A personality like Ashe.

4) A personality like Tifa.

5) Other.

Maybe she just became an l'cie or whichever is the thing she's supposed to be, I can't keep this jargon straight. Seems like that would result in some drastic life-changes.

Well apparently Lightning suffers from amnesia to some extent, so you could say she isn't the true Lightning. Something definitely happens that sets her apart from the rest that would destine her to chosen as a l'Cie by the fal'Cie. Her "Focus" is to bring about the downfall of Cocoon, and along with it, the Holy Government (assumingly). As for who the true Lightning is, well, we hardly know anything about what her new side is all about, so it's hard to say what kind of major transitions (if any) she makes from the time before she suffers from amnesia until that point.

I personally like to think of Lightning like she as always be kinda of strong woman, having an high position in the Holy Goverment or whatever it is. Then she left the army because she discovered something wrong about it, and feelt used by them.

The amnesia could be auto-inducted type or a parcial type ... Lightning was forcing herself to forget her past because she couldn't act in a decisive moment of her life...

Then she left the army and occasionaly meet the "resistance" group ... And she fights to redeem
herself ...

Or she could be faking her amnesia to fight the Holy Government, as a traumatic event in the past makes she to left the army and to be trusted by the resistance she first appears as fighter without past ...

Just my theories...
