Character removed from Final Fantasy XII

I'm not sure if anyone else remembers, but there was another female character in FFXII that they released a render of years ago. She was in a meadow and had a bluish-purple belly button shirt, a maroon dress, and short red hair. I remember she was my favorite character based purely on design. Does anyone else remember her?

Can I see a picture of this? o.O I wasn't following SE news back then, but I remember seeing some stuff that I don't recall seeing make it into the final game. Would be interesting to see the pre-game stuff now that I've played. XD

I don't recall seeing her in the lead-up to XII and she really doesn't fit the style of the game. If she were ever in it, she must have been taken out/completely remodelled very early on (2001 -ish I'm presuming :aldo:).


Or the whole thing could've been a hoax. I suspect the latter.

I remember that picture being as common to see as a picture of Vaan at the time. Thought I remember her being a higher quality render more like every other character's.

This picture was surfacing during the FF XII hype. It later turned out that this was fanart bsed on Rinoa.

I remember how everyone was excited back then, thinking there was going to be one more character in the game. Look at the background. It's the field where you see Rinoa in the intro of FF VIII.
