View Full Version : Would you like to see ACC in cinemas?

I know I really wanna see all that pretty CGI on the big screen. Why do films that are not even artistic get to the big screen and ACC, which is like a moving painting, not?

I mean is there really not a single movie distributer out there willing to distribute a movie like this? Or maybe SQEX are too afraid of cinema so don't want to share profits with a potential distributer.

FFAC is one of the worst movie I've ever seen. So no, I wouldn't want to see it in cinemas (I wouldn't want to see it all, in fact)

Why did you not like FFVII: AC? Was it too angst? You have to admitt the CGI was at least impressive, right?

A film doesn't deserve merit just because it looks pretty. Me and Neal waited ages for it to be released and we were pretty happy with the outcome. It's not a great film but it isn't bad. If you wanted to see it in cinemas, you should have gone to Japan when the original came out. It was only screened in some theaters though. Also you have to realise that a stupidly low proportion of people going to the cinema will have played FFVII so they won't understand it.

i say no because it already came out so every body that would want to see it knows whats to happen and the main focus of acc is that it is in high def now so what would be the point? but it still is pretty good for an animated video-game based movie...as far as that goes.

It had no meaning to the compilation to me personally. Wasn't stupidly bad, but wasn't that good either. :wtf:

QFT.

Though there are aspects that the viewers can see as open to their own interpretation and possibly make them want to track down the game.

would be better if they ended up killing cloud at the end

wasnt it already presented in cinemas (private i think) at the first launch in venice years ago? http://www.akatsukifan.org/_altervista_ht/gif/look.gif

Nah. They just need to get a better English script with more badass and emotional one-liners.

Like when Tifa threw Cloud up to Bahamut Sin she says, "No giving up" in the English dub but that should have been something badass like, "Dragon slayer!"

I mean a version where you can go to your local cinema and watch it.

BYOB should have been a backing track for that poor excuse for an ending to Bahamut.

BYOB should have been a backing track for that poor excuse for an ending to Bahamut.

The way Cloud killed Bahamut Sin was badass but the English dub was flat and without epic and poetic one-liners. I don't know if you remember the scene but I remember it well and wrote my own script for it. Every party member should have said something to Cloud while throwing him up there. The poetic level and epicness of the words being said should have increased as the Latin choir kicked in.

Here's my script for that scene:

Barret (Shouting): This is it, Cloud!

Cid (Shouting): Be strong!

Red XIII and Cait Sith (Shouting): There you go!

Yuffie (Shouting): Fly!

Vincent (In a calm but deep tone): An angel without wings.

Tifa (Shouting): Fall into heaven!

*The music goes insanely epic and Cloud rockets into the sky*

*He enters the Mega Flare attack and see's Aerith.*

Aerith (In a soft tone): Can I help too, Mr Angel?

*Cloud bursts through flames and kills Bahamut Sin.*OK, now if this was the English script for that scene it would have been insanely EPIC! The epic poetic words, the screenplay, Divinity II by Nobuo Uematsu playing in the background? Shit, the scene would have been complete overkill.

I want to see it in theaters, but many people (including non-gamers) haven't seen, heard or played Final Fantasy VII, so my answer have to say "no".

If Square want to make the movie out of the original, then I would say "yes"

Yeah there was but people replying to it thought it was refering to seeing AC performed on stage in a theatre.

That script isn't epic and it certainly isn't poetic, it's just corny. Who in their right mind would say "Fall into heaven" at a time like that? A video game character, and that's about it.

The most emotional, moving, dramatic thing Tifa could have done is say nothing. There's an obvious bond between her and Cloud, if they had just stared at each other while holding hands the scene might have lost some of its cornyness.

But the whole fight was just fan service anyway. More than the rest of the film.

This is fantasy! If they can jump 10 feet and float mid-air while throwing him up then they can say anything as long as it sounds as surreal and imaginative as what's happening in the films screenplay.

For Vincent to call him, "An angel without wings" just while the latin choir begin chanting and then Tifa to be the next and say, "Fall into heaven!" and then the music to just blow up in intensity would be EPIC!. I mean in the actual version Tifa said in that scene, "No giving up" in a calm voice and then the music went all epic and Cloud went rocket speed. Her words did not gel with the screenplay AT ALL.

Ok, if that's what suits you. I think I would have DIED from cringing if they had said that in the movie though.

I've seen the movie in English almost 60 times (I have no life) and I cringe at the missed opportunities of the script.

When Tifa talks to that water droplet in Shierra after Kadaj dies she says, "Somehow I knew you were there. Thank you." that was too vauge, it was like she was talking to God. It should have been, "You were there supporting him along, weren't you? Thank you." That way when Cloud sees Aerith at the end he would say, "I know. I'm not alone, I never was." instead of him saying, "I know. I'm not alone, not any more."

The English script butchers the whole movie.

I think in the ending scene that Cloud sees Aerith in church , Cloud should run to her and hug her ! (kidding ^^)

ok , when Aerith says "You're ok now , aren't you?"
Then Cloud should say like "I'm not alone anymore because in my heart.......I always have you , I'll keep you in my memory , forever~~~"

i dont think its neccessary to have ACC in cinemas because its been in a few cinemas in the US and many in Japan. and the fact that not many people have played VII broke its chances. personally, i would go just for the heck of it. but, sadly, no.^_^

I used to think the same. The English script was horrible and I kept coming up with ways to fix it (putting subtitles over the much better Japanese voice actors). I think the best idea would be to just give up on that movie though, it just can't be fixed.

I think I need to try watching the movie in Japanese with no subtitles and just make up what they're saying to make it feel more epic and emotional a movie.

@ Cynthia, yeah and then when Cloud ran to hug her, she would disappear because she's dead and Cloud would either hit a wall or fall on his ass XD that would make a fabulous alternate ending.
I am actually going to say yes because it is always really fun going to an anime movie in theaters, the fans in the theater are always crazy, and my friends and I pretty much ping off walls with everyone else while we are in there. And you can only imagine the number of people that would show up at theaters to see it. It would be awesome.
And I am talking about showings that are only like 2 days for one week, not a regular showing, it would not make enough money if it had a normal release.

Final Fantasy VII : Advent Chilren is a sequal. If you put it on the theaters, it don't make it sense because it's not the original.
