I only watched it as I found out that via EDGE Magazine the Director of the movie said some time ago:
I play a lot of video games but only Ico and Shadow of the Colossus are ones I'd call a masterpiece.Being the huge Team ICO fan as I am, I just had to find and watch his most critically acclaimed film and I was greatly impressed with what I saw. I watched it yesterday and it was a beautiful, imaginative and profound experience. Ending was at the same level of Shadow of the Colossus. Why can't films like this come out more often?
I'd give it a 10.
If you don't know shit about the film I recommend just watching it without seeing any trailers and only reading a brief story synopsis. It's one of those films that are even better when you don't know shit about it before watching.

That movie was horrifying. My mom rented it thinking we were going to get a Spanish fairytale. Well, we didn't, but we did get awesome.
I give it a 10 out of 10 for making Blank go D: and ;_; consecutively. Love dark stuff, especially when it has the wonderful ending that Pan's Labrynth did~
Crushing emotional power for the win.

10/10!!!
One of my favourite films, if not my fave. Just everything, story, music, visuals was amazing. I might have to go watch it again now. The end still makes me cry even though I know what's gonna happen.
That pale man dude scared the shit out of me the first time I saw it.

LOL! Yeah that guy was hella freaky! Still, it made me stop feeling bad about being a slowly developing pedo as his love for children is on a completely different level.

Guillermo, you fucking genius! No matter how you turn and twist it, the Labyrinth is a 10/10 movie.
@boomiko: Watch it in the original language with subtitles. The dub is hardly worth mentioning, just like all other american dubs...
EDIT: For more Guillermo awesomeness, take a look at The Orphanage as well, BUT WATCH IT IN SPANISH, dubs are always vastly sub-par with the originals....

10/10, it is cleverly executed with a very imaginative and artistic touch. I agree that the director is a genius.

I like your "A fantasy based on reality" statement as that's exactly what Nomura wants to do with Versus XIII. Let's hope he mixes fantasy and reality together as well as this film does. ^_^

7/10
Del Toro can do much better, he has proven that with "The Orphanage", I think Pan's Labyrinth must be one of the most overrated movies there ever was.
And don't get my words twisted: I like the movie and I think it's great, but I don't think it's that masterpiece everyone is talking about, allthough the end is just breathtaking and I didn't breathe for like 2 minutes^^
But 7/10 is the most I can give. We have movies like "Pulp Fiction" or "The Departed", so it would just not be right to give more.

My friend had recommended this film to me. I loved it. I especially loved the pan and that hand/eye guy that eats children. Even though it was a bit graphic, the story was great and I loved it from the beginning to end. 10/10! Very creative and imaginative.
