Please don't take it seriously on this.
I know it's just a game , but I just found out about the idea of the Lifestream and it's influence in Final Fantasy VII.

One thing about VII that many people love about the story and themes is the Lifestream.

In Final Fantasy VII, the Lifestream is a flow of life-force beneath the surface of the Planet, and all life originates(including humans) from the Lifestream and returns to it upon death.
You could say that the Planet is living organism by the lifestream and everyhting in the Planet is base of the Lifestream.

Also, the Lifestream contains the many memories and emotions, andknowlege of human beings in the Planet. If a humans dies, it's engery (their memories, emotions and knowlegde) return to the Lifestream. Their spirit lives on the Lifestream. Plus, it acts as an afterlife.
The Cetras worship the Planet so that they become one with the Planet by the Lifestream which it' is the "Promise Land".

Well, the Lifestream and the Planet define or perform this religion,Hinduism.

The Lifestream demonstrates the "Brahman", the concept of Hinduism.
Brahman is the unchanging, infinite, immanent and transcendent reality which is the Divine Ground of all matter, energy, time, space, being, everything beyond in this Universe.
Otherwords, the Brahman is the Supreme World-Spirit or unchanging and eternal being. It acts or describes as an infinite bliss, infinite consciousness or very our consciousness. It is the nature of truth, knowlegde, and infinity.
In the teaching of Hinduism, all living things is an "atman", it's spirt or soul, that comes from the Brahman. All the living things (including animals and plants) has a soul, and all thing must return to the Brahman.

That explaination shows that the Lifestream and it's functions relate to this religion.

The ultimate goal of man is to be "in one" with the Brahman to find their one true self or truth. Vedanta is a spiritual tradition is concerned with self-realistion by which ones understands the ulitmate nature of reality. It teaches the believer's goal their limitations of self to get close to Brahman. Vedanta is Vedanta as the end of knowledge refers to a state of self-realisation, attainment, or cosmic consciouness.

That statment proves that Cloud became to his true self from his amnesia when Tifa enter the Lifestream to restore his "true" self or he influence by it when he reaches someones's hand at the end of the CGI seqeunce in the original game.
Maybe, Cloud wants to reach close to his love ones and friends, especailly Zack and Aeris. (He talks to her in FFVII:Advent Children in his consciouness.)
In add too that, that last fight with Sephiroth in the orignial game was part of Cloud's consiouness.

Also, The Braham is consider to be the source of essence of material universe. That explains that Shrina use the Lifestream as an engery source to make engery.

It's meaning, which means the means the Great Cosmic Spirit, from root brha , fits the outer-space feeling as the Lifestream moves slowly around outside the planet in space.

It's an information I want to spread it out. :)

Yeah. I saw it. It was really good. I knew Square use religions on Final Fantasy VII.

I was explain that Lifestream concept have very strong similaries of Atman-Brahman God concept of Hinduism or Gaia theories.

You could look it up in wikipedia(click Gaia (Final Fantasy VII), and they tell you that the same thing.

I love reading how FF games are connected to the real world whether it be spiritually, physically, etc.
You know what I find weird, that the FF characters happen to know a lot more about how life is and what happens after life ends and it seems to be consistent with everyone they meet on their planet. However in our real world, nothing is concrete on life and death and all we hear is certain beliefs and theories on the complexities of life and death. We have so many religions just speculating on how life truly is and what happens after death and in a sense, we're still searching for that.
