Dengeki: Final Fantasy XIII Gameplay Scans [Archive]

As the rest of the Japanese game magazines, Dengeki has followed suit with the new Final Fantasy XIII gameplay screenshots and information. There are no new screenshots that we can see but there may be a few extra pieces of information the other magazines have missed. We'll hopefully have them translated soon. Thanks to BlankChocobo who scanned them in for us.

When you're around here for as long as we've been, you'll realise this is the same cycle we go through everytime :aldo:. You'll be shocked when we get to the time of the year when no news at all comes out. :P

Looks like some more info on the battle system. Translate that first! Hopefully it can answer the most confusing thing about the battle system - what in the hell happens when the ATB fills up?

well i reckon you choose your attacks filling up the atb gauge then when youve picked all ur commands with people it does the attack then after that u pause and wait for your atb gauge to go back up.. or not, but yeah probly happens like that

They're photos not scans but that's ok. I have no scanner and no way to access one for less than legit purposes. XD

I anticipate a second wave of info coming in sometime in January, probably with new character info and a little more on the gameplay system. Possibly information on something entirely new but I doubt that one. XD

Don't quote me on it though. <3

Yeah, there was absolutely no Versus in V-Jump, Dengeki or Famitsuu looks like. =/ Maybe next time we'll get some new stuff..

Yeah Square-Enix didn't show shit for Versus or Agito at Jump Festa. They could of showed something, they have to be somewhat into development by now. So I wonder... do they only show scans based on the trailers at events because if so, we won't be seeing anything about Versus or agito for a loooooooooong time.
Gosh don't ya just love seeing the same shit three times, it's so magical.

Now they show more FFXIII because the Trailer isn't that well, like FFversus. I wonder why they show in the trailer more in FFversus as FFXIII although they want finished the FFXIII project at first. But about Agito they don't show very much... :|

^It's the number on the right of her her ATB bar. It's usually around 600hp.

Versus and Agito a still a while off, and I wouldn't be surprised if they're starting the XIII hype train right now. And you really don't want to show too much at once, and they have been showing a lot lately.

I have been around here for some time and indeed I know that when we suddenly get to see lots of new things from scans that it's going to be a long time quiet before we see something else. But are we going to see a new trailer or do we need to wait until FFAC gets out in March??

CMT is the most horrible idea ever. I hope there's a little new info in those scans though.

Question: Isnt there a famitsu coming out on the 30th of this month with a whole bunch of final fantasy XIII stuff?

I'm not surprised they haven't shown us the new characters. It took them more than a year to show us Snow after his debut, more than a year and a half for Vanille. I'm guessing they want to show us the battle system now to get us ready for the demo in March. So expect to see the new characters some time after that, possibly at E3 (though they do tend to stay away from the big events).

Nope, Famitsu comes out every week. That's why it's called Weekly Famitsu.

But then you have Famitsu Wave, Famitsu PS3, Famitsu Wii+DS... which all come out monthly.

No, the magazines show what Square-Enix gives them, which may or may not have to do with the trailers they show at events. Media people aren't allowed to take pictures in the CMT, just like everybody else. I'm not even sure if they get a special showing or if they have to wait in like like everybody else at 6am. XD There is a VIP entrance, but I don't know who gets to go in.

Usually there's a three week to one month time gap after events in which the magazines aren't allowed to talk about the stuff there. The scans we got were very early for JF news (not that they had much to do with JF anyway). I'm guessing SE released the screens to coincide with JF, but may release JF related information later but soon(month)... maybe.

It's better then waiting a year like we just did. The last trailer released was like December 15th last year or something like that, and this year we just got a new trailer December 13th.
March is not that far away, the only thing i am concerned about is if they use the same trailers we have seen already... which really wouldn't make sense, but this is square-enix we are talking about. They might put the JF trailer of FFXIII on it, but then what will they do for Versus and Agito. We'll just see what they give us... *is not getting my hopes up*

In March we'll se the game. If I'm not mistaken,, FFACC should be realised that month. Anyway March is not that far away, I can wait. Let's hope in the meantime they'll show us something more about Versus.

I hope they show some thing related to versus.... I was quite disappointed that the focus is solely on FFXIII. Once FFXIII come out, all the hype will go to Versus XIII.

I just realized that I completely forgot about the Final Fantasy XIII Demo. So they will show something good for Final Fantasy XIII no matter what, but as far as Versus and Agito goes... meh who knows. The trailers might be new or they might be the same thing we've already seen .

Didn't they say at DKSigma, when they announced the FFXIII demo, that they would include the "most recent" Versus and Agito trailers as well? I'm assuming we'll get Jump Festa '09 trailers, though they don't really differ that much from the TGS '08 trailers so it wouldn't really matter if they weren't actually the most recent. They do have to be more recent than DKSigma, though, at least for Versus, because that one's already been released.

If we got either of those Versus trailers released, we would be able to verify the conversation finally. Either would be excellent. >_<
