Dengeki Magazine Annonounces a FFXIII Playable Demo

Just a small piece of information, the newest issue of Dengeki has announced that the FF13 demo will still be going ahead in '07.

A month or two after E3 '06, an interview with the Final Fantasy 13 development team (which is in fact very similar to the original Final Fantasy 10 team), probed for information regarding a playable demo. The team stated that they were most probably going to have a playable demo ready for E3 '07.

Since E3 was downsized late last year though, questions have been raised as to whether this demo will be appearing or not, and if so, where. Fear not though, as according to Dengeki the demo will most certainly be seen this year - as for which tradeshow it will be presented at though, we will just have to wait and see.

Along with mentioning that a surprise announcement related to the 20th anniversary of Final Fantasy is to be made, Square-Enix stated, in Dengeki PlayStation magazine, that they hope to release a playable of demo of Final Fantasy XIII within this year. If they do have one before year end, we here at FFcompilation.co.uk will be sure to give you the news first.

I hadn't seen this news before but looking at all the sources for it they just link to each other. As said in the quote above, the interview was a month or two after last E3 so it's pretty old news apparently :P I was probably too busy making the site to notice it.

Yeah they also said they wanted a playable demo for E3 '07 but there is no longer an E3, in the first interview on this site they mention the idea of a demo too. Maybe we get lucky and it will be playable at E for all and the PSN.

That would be nice if it was playable at a public expo. Of course the interview was before the announcement that E3 would be private so maybe Square have changed their mind since then. Everyone seems to be posting it as new news :P Those fools! Even Kotaku and QJ.net have.
