Star Wars: TOR in-game footage released

For those who don't know Star Wars: The Old Republic is an MMORPG being Devloped by Bioware (KotOR 1, Mass effect) in collaberation with Lucasarts. It was announced at the end of October and now the first peices of in game footage have been released here (http://www.swtor.com/media/vidcasts/viddoc001).

I used to play SWG back in it's awesome days and I've always been a big fan of Knights of The Old Republic (1 mostly) so naturally I was excited when this was announced, but that video looks so awesome!

If they really do implement story well like they're claiming, this could be the first MMO in a long time that's something more than just a WoW clone.

Awesome. Will probably give me something else to play. Most MMO's make my eyes bleed. Stargate MMO awesome aswell.

From what they show it looks identical as KOTOR, you wouldnt really say its MMO, though I am most interested to see how they will do the battle system, they said they want to create dynamic way of fighting and I got the feeling that they will screw the game anyway, i dont think if it become more popular then WoW despite the number of SW fans out there

I loved KOTOR and Mass Effect, making this is the only MMO I ever considered getting!

I agree that it won't be as popular as WoW, that games a beast in terms of popularity. But SWG had a very large fanbase before the NGE and it's safe to neary the majority of those SWG vets are really exited for this (myself included).

Like I said in my original post, the succes of TOR depends on whether they manage to implement story as well as they're claiming they will. Although all MMO's have their differences, they're all a bit to samey imo. A story based MMO would be really awesome.
