View Full Version : Any news on FFXIII Special Edition PS3?

Has there been any news on the possibility of releasing a special edition PS3 for FFXIII like the ones for MGS4/Devil May Cry/Uncharted, etc.?

I've been trying to decide whether I should get the PS3 now or wait till FFXIII is out... (since FFXIII is, so far, the reason I must have a PS3 haha...)

You should get a PS3 whether there is a special edition or not. If there is then I will definitely be preordering it.

There weren't special editions for those games. The only one that had one was MGS4.

Devil May Cry had a special edition... A pretty bad one, but it still had one.

There was a special edition console, it was a white PS3 with DMC4 almost as a pack in for Japan,sorta like the MotorStorm bundle was over here.

I wouldn't call that a special edition, you are able to buy white PS3 consoles regardless anyway. Not exactly one which is additional to the DMC franchise, unlike that of the MGS4 one.

Japan will probably get a special edition FFXIII PS3. Dunno about the west though

Yep, that's the one. ^_^ I was thinking we were talking about all special editions, not exclusively limited collector's editions, I didn't realize the that the white one could be bought separately.

You'd be pretty stupid to buy a console when the game you're waiting for isn't out. ;) There's nothing wrong with waiting for 1 game to buy a console, what's stupid about it?

think about it now the ps3 is at a very low price but when MGS4 was released with its special edition even here in mexico its price increased quit much

so what makes you think that if they release a ffxiii or a ffvxiii special editions they wouldn't be that expensive????

Because whatever Sony says there is always a chance a price cut will happen. It's weird that they would make a special edition that was more expensive, but the MGS4 pack was pretty huge if I remember right.

There's no point buying one for no games now regardless of whether or not the special edition is more expensive.

There'll probably be one in Japan. Maybe for the rest of the world as well. But I'm definitely not buying one.

He probably means why wait for 1 game to come out when you can buy the console now, play some of the great games it has to offer while waiting for FFXIII to come out.

Well, if anything is like the case with Vesperia and Remnant for the 360. Then gamers in Japan may also be getting a FFXIII PS3 edition as well.
