Game Trailers has just put up it's review for TLR.

Story: 8.2
Design: 8.7
Gameplay: 8.5
Presentation: 7.0
Total: 8.0
The Last Remnant is a hard game to judge. A person's enjoyment of it will be directly related to how much they can tolerate the persistent graphical issues. If you can get past it, there's a lot to enjoy. The smart design decisions and its unique battle system.

8.0 seems a bit high for a review where they almost described it as average. Me thinks the Last Remnant ads they've been running for the last month may have affected their scoring.

Meh. It looks alright. I'll have to play it first to judge properly but it looks pretty average to me.

Finally a review score that isn't the 6.0 category. Seriously, a lot of other western reviewers are knocking off points just because of the technical issues. That's a shame as the game design and gameplay in this game is very good.

but the game design and the gameplay are no good if it doesnt work properly!

Does anybody care. Gametrailers and The Last Remnant are bullshit together.

I dont know what to think. I think the only way to see if the game is good or bad is playing it. Gamespot gave it a 6.5 but they said the gameplay, the sound and and story are great. I think they are gaving to much importance to that thcnical problems. Maybe it will disapear on ps3 version.

Hmmm. Hopefully they will be better on the PS3 because of the extra development time but I doubt it. If anything it will likely be worse.

The Unreal Engine and PS3 are better off without each other.

It amazes me though how bad critics are attacking the slowdown in battles when it isn't even that bad. They are making it sound like the game is unplayable. Also I don't see what they are talking about with the textures because mine are loading in fine. I have my game installed on the harddrive by the way.

GT's reviews are either right or completely wrong..... I'm not trusting them this time.

Wtf. If a game does not work, you give it a bad score. :wtf:
It would be different if the issues were just little annoyances (like annoying missions or something), not pure graphical issues.
And yes, the PS3 and URIII is a bad combo. I think Enix just wanted to make some quick cash. Why else would they have used a ready engine instead of building their own?
We all know they can use the PS3 just fine.

I agree with you that if a game has technical issues that it deserves to get points knocked off the score. But people are giving this game a 6 and calling it medicore. That is way to damn harsh. Also I have said this so many times now but the graphical issues ARE NOT THAT BAD. They are nothing like the vids that are shown on the internet. I think the lowest this game should get is an 8.
Even with the minor graphical issues I still think this is the best RPG this gen so far.

You have to be fucking smoking something. Better than Mass Effect, or Fallout 3, or Vesperia or LO? Gtfo.
And they need to be harsh. I mean, they have so much money and time to make these games, and they rush them out just to stick to a release date. Which is preposterous.

In my opinion it is better than all of those games, but just keep in mind that it is my opinion.
Lost Odyssey was the only one that you listed that I acctually like tbh.
Never could get into Mass Effect or Fallout 3....and I just don't like Tales of Vesperia.

pfft IGN gave it a 5.3 out of 10, calling it "mediocre"
I'm still gonna buy it regardless, just waiting for the PS3 version.... =_=

I'll be getting it. But I'm preparing myself for the "Issues" I will have. I've been through more or less all the reviews and it seems unanimous that the game isn't great but good

I REALLY don't think this game shuold be stuck with a 6... Granted, I'm not too far into the game, but if you install the game onto your 360 (Thank god NXE lets you do that), then it runs like a dream. You get pop-in (up?) textures, but slowdown's extremely rare. I've only gotten it once, the unique attacks run brilliantly. Granted, it ate my 20gb hard drive up and left me with about 216mb, but it was worth it.
A lack of control is a horrible thing in a long-winded battle against enemies that outnumber or overpower you, but at least it's forcing you to strategise.
The 8.0 seems good to me.
