Final Fantasy XIII Wins MTV Game Award

The German MTV Game Awards 2008 took place yesterday and surprisingly Final Fantasy XIII was entered into a category. It may seem so far away but the huge amount of excitement surrounding the title got it entered into the "Do believe the hype" category.

It seems that even though the game is taking forever, the anticipation for it is just as huge as it was 2 years ago. It won the award and although he couldn't attend the show, Yoshinori Kitase, the producer of Final Fantasy XIII left a video message accepting the award. The reason he said he couldn't attend was because "the development of Final Fantasy XIII is right now at a very important stage". The nominations video has been uploaded to Youtube and can be viewed below.

I'm not really excited about the compilation anymore, and I think it's kinda ridiculous to give a game (that has been in production for like 3 years with hardly any info on it with SE keeping info from their fans) an award. But hey to each his own I guess.

^ Well, you're lucky. Here in Denmark no one knows what Final Fantasy is -.- And I would also love to see a worldwide release.. Here in Europe we (almost) always get the games last, same thing with movies :(

Here in Portugal no one knows what final fantasy is, neither a RPG. Most of people here only care for sport , racing and wrestling games.
I bet ffxiii is going to be rleased only in 2010 in europe.
