YouTube - Drakengard 2 OST - Vein of Grief

I've being playing Drakengard 2 lately (I ain't played the first one yet though...) and though the gameplay is not going to win any industry awards the story, FMV and OST are freaking amazing IMO!

I love the above tune as the point it plays in the game suits it perfectly, I haven't experienced music and screenplay blend so well in a video game since listening to "Revived Power" while climbing up the second colossus in Shadow of the Colossus. My fave part of this tune has to be the intense build up from 2:21 till 2:40, it sounds EPIC! Oh and I also love the dreamy like choir voice at the start and how the whole song ends.

You guys should give the game a shot if you haven't already, especially if you're one of those that play RPGs mainly for story. ^_^

I play mainly for gamelay but, as I said before, though the gameplay is bland and repetitive the story, FMV and OST are really impressive. Kudos to the development for that at least. I hope SQEX get a third game in this series out.

Both Drakengard games were absolutely finominal in my opinion. Although I do think the 1st is by far better than the 2nd so you MUST go rent or buy it. I really hope they announce Drakengard 3 for the PS360.

I agree man. The story, FMV and OST of Drakengard 2 are something else. Blew me away in all honesty, didn't expect it to be that good, especially in the story department.

Definitely gonna play the first. :D

I honestly didn't care for the Drakengard games, they were just an SE version of Dynasty Warriors to me.

Yeah, well like I said, the gameplay is not going to win any industry awards and it was slightly bland and repetitive but the story, FMV and OST in the game is really, really good. I recommend any SQEX fan to experience the game especially if they mainly play RPGs for story.

It also has some dragon riding air combat scenes like those found in Panzar Dragoon. Those are full of win and at least add ad more flavour to the gameplay. :)

Seconded.

Why? Square didn't make this, they just published it. Also the music is composed by Sanodg. He also made many songs for the Ridge Racer and Tekken series. You should check his other work out too although it sounds a bit different, but maybe you'll like it anyway :P.

Well, SQEX own the game license even though it was developed by cavia. Also, the composer is called Yoshiki Aoi. I can't find a list of his other works anywhere online though... :(
