Gosh, that's gorgeous.
I heard you could do them too in Adobe Illustrator.

Yep, illustrator actually works better because it works with real vectors.
what photoshop uses is called vexels.
the difference is that vectors can be infinitely resized without loss of quality.

and no, illustrator requires a different crack than photoshop would.

Wow, that's beautiful. A great tutorial, too. So great that I had a go. Not too bad considering I lack Photoshop.
