Lightning 21 - 24 she act very resolute, i think she's not an adolescent

I think Noctis is not an adult yet. I guess 19 year old for him and 18 year old for Stella? I read from the mag scan that mention something about the trailer that Noctis is soon to be crowned once he reach adult age so that's the reason i guess he is not an adult yet. As for Shotgun guy i think he is 19-21 while scar face around 24/25?

As for Lightning, i guess around 22 and Snow around 23?

Just one problem - Cloud was either 21-22ish, so "oldest main since Cecil" doesn't really make much sense. Though they could be talking about FFIV: The After Cecil (who's 37, since it's 17 years later), but that wasn't made long enough ago for the comparison make sense. XD

I wouldn't mind lightning being 23-25, even though thats still young, she's wouldn't be as young as many final fantasy main characters. And I really though Noctis would be 21-23, not 19, that kinda threw me off. (even though its not confirmed)
And I don't see why some of you think Snow looks younger then Lightning, to me he looks older or at least at the same age, and shotgun guy looks 18 or older, glasses guy looks like he's about 22-24, and Scar guy looke 26-30 in my opinion. I'd say Stella is one year younger or the same age as Noctis. Sera looks 18 or older as well.

For them being 20 is middle aged but being a teenager is being in their prime and yes over 24 is pretty much ancient. I always seem to like the characters that are older in their late twenties and perhaps *gasp* thirties, since their the older portion of most of SE's characters and they usually are more mature.

To be fair, they had some idea that Western teenagers (which the cast of VIII were meant to be) looked a lot older than they do. Possibly they got this idea from watching American TV shows where it's acceptable for an actor 25+ to play a teenager.



I fully expect Lightning and Snow to be younger than they look (with Snow a year old than Lightning) and Vanille to be older than she acts. Noctis will probably be 18/19, GirlyGunGuy (GGG) to be 17/18, Glasses will be 20 and 'Butch' will be 21 (tops, any older and he just wouldn't be cool). In the quest to be Shakespearean, Stella will be 13.

She seems way too serious and focused to be much younger than mid-20s. She's got a military history, but that doesn't really mean much, since we don't know what the minimum age to join PSICOM is (SOLDIER recruited 15-year-olds, as a point of reference). 25 is about as old as JRPG protagonists are likely to go, though. =P

- Snow - 19-21:
His size makes him seem older than he is, I think. He's just not mature enough to be too far into his 20s, though (at least in JRPG terms). His attitude kind of reminds me of (16yo) Zack's original attitude - utterly confident that everything's gonna go right, even if he doesn't have that much of a plan apart from smashing whatever gets in his way. When things get bad, he's far more surprised than an adult should be - and considering the results of this in the demo, he could almost be somewhat of a deconstruction of the teenage rebel leader.

- Team Nora - around Snow's age:
They all were brought up together as orphans, with similar motivations and (apart from Maquis, who's probably younger than the rest by a few years) a similar sense that they're basically invincible. I'd bet that Lebreau and Gadot are within a few years of each other and Snow.

- Noct - 19-20:
I'd read something that mentioned a "coming of age" ceremony in relation to Noct that happens at age 20, so he probably starts out only a few days before his 20th birthday, and is 20 most of the time.

- Stella - 18-20:
She's probably younger than Noct, since female leads usually are, though I could see her being a few months older in order to keep them both as adults.

Eh~ I read that somewhere too. Aparently, the japanese celebrate their teenagers becomming adults at the age of twenty. So I agree with the assumption that at the very begining, Noctis is nineteen, then turns twenty somewhere in the begining.

It's hard to tell for me because if someone in the US who looks like they're 16 (in the US) goes to Japan, they would guess that same person to be 24... I'm not joking. I've heard this story from quite a few people that used to live there. I don't know if this mentality translates into the Japanese's video games so I can't really guess what the characters' ages would be.
