I will call this a Progressive Fanfic, seeing as I'm going to write it off the top of my head and on a whim. I'll also be adding more in successive posts. I've been itching to write a Kingdom Hearts fanfiction for a while now, but I've finally gotten around to it. Now, I'll be taking full advantage of all the new information being released, so you may need to visit this link (http://www.kh2.co.uk/) to fully understand some parts.
It follows characters of my own making, and is set around eight years before the first Kingdom Hearts game. I'm looking for critique on this, as I'm looking to improve my skill in typing without much forward planning. I note, this is less then half the quality of my soon-to-be-published book...
Words in Italics are being thought by the characters. This first part is quite short compared to what I'm going to write later on, but is an introduction.

A flowing grey cape billowed in the wind, its wearer silent and stoic. She tilted her head, watching the world below her perch atop a cliff. The crimson-brown horizon matched her silky hair and her black eyes watched like those of an eagle. She paused, then summoned a magnificent weapon.
The planet seemed to shudder with anticipation. The destined one had come, the wielder of the ancient blade. At long last, she had arrived to purge the land. The enigma looked ahead, into the clouds. A black shape was forming, dark mist rising high into the atmoshpere.
A battle.
She leapt into the air, falling for moments before sprouting feathered wings and soaring off towards the new enemy. Now it was there; a beast, floating ready to attack, malice dripping from its golden eyes. The dragon roared and challenged the human as she approached at incredible speed, key-shaped blade ready in hand.
When the pair collided, a searingly bright shockwave rocked the sky and cast a mystical glow over everything for miles around.

Ugh... I feel so heavy... My limbs-- I can't move them! A young woman, lying on the ground, opened her eyes. At first, her vision was blurry, but it eventually returned to normal. The sky above was of a bluish-violet hue, and she was surrounded by tall, azure cliffs.
"Hey! Who are you?"
A vacant, open hand appeared, ready to help her up. She reached out and took the assistance, being pulled into a crude sitting position.
"Uh, my name's Nevena. Where am I?" She asked, pushing some of her auburn hair backward. Crouching less than a metre away was a teenage, brown-haired youth. He stared inquiringly for a moment.
"I'm Squall Leonheart. Did you come down with that meteor just then?" He questioned, standing. It was now that Nevena realised that the blue cliffs actually formed the steaming rim of a crater. Some parts of the like-coloured ground still bubbled with heat as it crystallized.
"How about I just call you 'Leon' from now on?"
She developed an even more confused expression.
"Look, I can't even begin to tell you how I got here. All I know is who I am." She affirmed, trying to stand but wobbling and falling to her knees. Squall frowned. "I need to get you back to town. You not looking too good."
Fifteen minutes later the pair had made their way to a small walled city. It bustled with nervous energy, as if something of great curiosity had just occured.
Squall had led the mysterious girl back to a house with more people inside. The dwelling was warm and homey, yet filled with machines of all kinds.
"Nevena, huh? So, how old are you, and how'd you get here?" A scraggly, blonde-haired man asked. He seemed to be the caregiver of Squall, and two other children.
"...I'm sixteen, and I don't know. For all I know, I passed out and woke up in that crater." She replied, pointing out a window. Squall groaned.
"Whatever the case, looks like you're sticking with us until you figure things out. He's Cid, that's Aerith, and the young girl in the corner is Yuffie." He said, pointing to the blonde man, a brown-haired girl about Nevena's age, and a child around nine years old.
"I think we should go see Ansem the Wise." Aerith suggested in her light, elfin voice and looking at Cid; "Cloud should be there, too."
