If they do produce a steaming pile of crap, I don't think I'll have been paying enough attention to the script/ecting/etc. to notice.

It's nice to know that the director can't be assed to play the games himself, he's to busy being a director. :aldo:

That would be what I call a ass hat. :cookie:

I am sure Jake will look fine when its all over, with CG and all that stuff, it will look Sexy methinks.

If the movie will be any good is totally in the air though. :C

Although, they got it wrong. He should have at least half of a shirt, or tattoo's from sand like in The Two Thrones. :/

I think they said that was the inspiration. They said it was just based on one of the other stories like the sands.... I dunno. Been a while since I read up on it.

It's based upon the Sands Of Time.
And i hope Gemma Arterton turns out to be a fit Farah. Better be Farah. :aldo:

You seriously dont know who Jake Gyllenhaal is? He starred in City Slickers, October Sky, Donnie Darko, Day after tomorrow, and I reckon his most significant role, Brokeback Mountain with the Late Heath Ledger.

Look him up here - http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0350453/

Ooo, it is based on the sands. Glorious. :cookie:

And Farah was fucking hot in The Two Thrones, she was just ugly in SoT. :aldo:

There is no Farah as far as I saw...I believe they replaced her with Tamina...which I don't understand at all. Is Tamina a better name than Farah?

And I do not like Gyllenhaal in this role. I think they should've tried for an actual Persian actor. Or at the very least more of an unknown actor. I just don't think he's right for the part and he certainly doesn't look right.

And they gave him the name of Dastan. *shrugs* I guess it's ok. Just reminds me of Gaston from Beauty and the Beast. I think it would've been interesting if they tried to do it without giving him a name, as it was in the games. I suppose that would be too difficult for Hollywood, though. >.>

he looks funny because he is not in action. And because he is holding hands with Witherspoon. GAG.

I am sure he will look fine in the movie.

I can't predict how this film will do but Silent Hill and the Resident Evil films did pretty well in theatres. I think Silent Hill is the best video game to film adaptation so far...not that there's many good ones.

Well, I think many games could have good plots and become good movies. This one, Bioshock and Halo all seem to me like they would do well.

I think Bioshock would be phenomenal if done right. This one should be okay. And last I heard a NEW Halo script is going around based on the first Halo book, which, means it should be amazing.

I couldn't agree more
Hollywood is running out of ideas they gotta go into the games. But hey, I'll give it a shot anyways.

They're making a God of War move to, and Gears of War. Don't know when they'll come out though.

Why the hell couldn't they get an ACTUAL Persian guy to play the role?

Exactly! That's one of the reasons I have a bad feeling about this movie. I just don't think he's right for the part.

Seriously there are plenty of Middle Eastern/Persian actors out there suitable for the role. They just didn't look

Yep, it's unfortunate how lazy Hollywood can be sometimes

That said...I suppose there is the possibility that they DID look and didn't find anyone who they thought was right for the part. I doubt it, but it's possible, lol

I think they said they did look.

All in all, it depends on the director and who he thinks will do best.

Where did they say they looked? I didn't see that in any of the articles I saw or anything.

I read something about the storyline, and apparently it's going to actually be almost completely different than the game. After reading up on it, I'm a bit nervous, to be honest. Not to mention Ubisoft apparently has nothing to do with the movie...which takes credibility away, in my opinion. They have no one to regulate it at all except Hollywood execs...

I wish Hollywood would stop making movies from video games and books for at least a little while and come up with new epic stories of their own.

Wtf. Jordan Mechner is the one who made Sot great. Ubisoft screwed it up (WARIOR WITHIN PPL). As long as Mechner is involved, should be fine.

lol, so angry. I'm just relaying the information I got. It was from one of the people involved in the movie, and they said the game and movie are two very separate entities controlled by two different companies.

I guess we'll see if it works out when the movie is completed and in the theaters :)

He looks the part, but the last movie I saw with him was Jarhead, so I'm not convinced

I vote Orlando Bloom to be his replacement. He looks the part. plus, a british accent wouldn't hurt for a persian prince... right?
