Ok so I was talking to a friend of mine and we were getting slightly personal and she asked me why guys shave off their pubic, armpit, and leg hairs if they're not an athlete in one of those sports in which it's a superstition that you'll be swifter with less hair. Well, I don't shave off my hair from my skin (except on my face) and have no clue why guys do that, and I know a lot of guys I know do that.

So does anyone know why guys seem to do it? And for the girls: Do you find a guy more attractive w/ shaved areas or hairy?

Well, why are WOMEN forced to shave their hairs as well if they're not an athelete? While one sex is supposed to do it and the other not was something I was never able to get.

....lol....I shave.....Alot of girls I've talked to seem to prefer it (not all though)....Some don't really care as long as it isn't really hairy. I'm a Mixed Martial Artist (UFC type fighting for those who don't know)....and I wrestled at MTSU before I decided to start fighting....so I'm really athletic....but thats not why I do it....lol...I guess I was just influenced by alot of the girls I've talked to. I'm never letting it grow back....itches like hell

I don't shave. Shaving completely is weird for me, personally. I think men should let themselves be hairy, and woman I don't care less about but I prefer the apperance of a trimmed up ladeehh.

Oh well, we've got to entertain ourselves somehow.

Anyways, personally I could care less if a guy shaves himself as long as he's not super hairy; and if he shaves his pubic hair that's on him. But women shave themselves because if they don't they tend to look unapealing when they're wearing a dress or a skirt or whatever- that's what I think anyways. That's why I shave my legs and under my arms, and as for my pubic hair...I don't even mess with that too much because it gets on my nerves. So I just shave the bikini line or cut it if it grows too wild.:aldo:
Plus if you shave your pubic hair and let it grow back it itches or feels wierd sometimes so you have to keep shaving it so it doesn't grow back.
But I even have a friend who shaves her arms!:rolleyes:

Well most girls I know don't shave their arms (except for the friend I mentioned earlier), for me it would be too tedious and annoying; I already hate shaving my legs and under arm hair. But I can understand the gorilla thing

*hears the stalker music come up when elphy joins....* Only time Iv'e really kept track of my leg/armpit/facial hair is when i was on a swimming team in Alaska....It does help out to cut down on a little drag when the only thing your wearing is a speedo or such, and saves you the time and uncomfort from having to wear a siwmming cap to cut down all the drag on your hair up top. As for down below just mostly keep it neat not growing rampant xD Alot of ppl in the navy do it though. Specially submariners. They'll do anything to cut down the time they gotta be in the shower. Gotta hate having like 1-2minutes worth of water per person on average, so the less you got around your body the faster your clean is. As for women, it's nice to have or a see a woman tht does keep herself up, mostly not because they "have to" but because it just shows that she pays attention to her hygiene and wants to keep herself groomed. Pubic hair isnt really a plus or minus in my book. Not their ok, there, ok xD....*tosses his 2 cents in.

haha i think the main reason a lot of men dont groom themselves regularly other than shaving/haircuts is the "omgfear" of everyone else immediatedly thinking they are of the homosexual persuasion. cause admittedly gay men are the pretty muchly the LARGE majority of the men that do groom themselves regularly.

It's also easier to make a women wet if she has no hair. From what I hear most men say is to why they shave there pubic hair is to "make it look bigger". I just think it's disgusting when there's a forest in your pants. Okay ill admit it's okay to have a little hair, like a landing strip, but hair like Chuck Norris(only he can pull that off), that's disgusting. And when it comes to grooming and hygiene i'm a girl about it. I don't like when guys shave off all their body hair, it makes them look all preteen and nasty. I personally just shave my armpits when its hot, because it helps. But I like having hairy legs and such, the girls and guys I talk to seem to like it.

hmm personally i'm a guy and i don't shave at all but i'm not really hairy ifi i grow a little hair on my chin or upper lip i just cut it with sissors it doesn't grow back fast like shaving it also doesn't make the hair grow darker which is good because my hair while not blonde is pretty light and it would look weirdo on me. also i cut armpit hair just because when it's long it looks pretty bad

Pubes - Completely shave...who the hell likes hairy balls anyway? :-p
Legs - I trim them because they can get a little out of control, but I don't completely shave them.
Armpit Hair - Same as my legs...I trim them.

I also completely shave my chest/abs. I just don't like body hair that much. I think a shaven chest looks way better than a hairy chest, unless the hair is covering up something unattractive (scars, man-boobs, etc).

In all honesty I shave down there because as already said a dozen times the amazon forest in your pants ain't a nice sight. On top of that it can get tedious for me myself. Not completely shaved obviously, no hair would be a flash to the past.

The only thing that I find tedious about the whole ordeal is actually the time it consumes. I really can't ever be that arsed to start the whole process of grooming myself, yet force myself to do it. As for legs, no way I'm gonna be shaving that any time soon.

Anyhoo, I surf and most of my surfing mates (including me) tend to find the whole "goatee" or close shave look awesome. Atleast I do, I feel like I'm missing out if I return from a surfing trip with a completely shaven chin or sides.

I shave mainly my face, i HAD to start shaving my face at ten i don't know why but i have to shave 3 times a day because it grows so quickly. I dont really shave anywhere else, i trim my legs every once in awhile i don't shave them but i trim them because they grow really quickly too.

... okay, who in their right mind would use a razor on their balls? I actually know someone who tried it... didn't work. At all. Painted the floor well, though. I mean, seriously... trim with some skizzorz or something. Maybe a clipper...

But yeah, I just do it when it gets out of control.

I still say super smooth shaved legs are very gay looking. I say clean and trimmed on legs. Armpits shaved, just not quite so hairless as Aurons. Pubic hair gone too because it's slightly disgusting. And face whatever suits you, really.

ok i don't shave my legs or my arm hair but i think the reason other guys do it besides the fact that they might be gay is because some guys like to be clean and they think hair is dirty and there to lazy to clean them selfs often. they shave to make it look like there clean and they think a girls or guys in any case

Oh for pete's sake :p (this to all the commotion about shaving balls). It's scary the first time, but if you decide to shave down there you really can't leave the balls which will grow hair as well. The whole process of shaving down there takes time as doing it quick and straight away will cause irritation and itching. On top of that you're actually supposed to use a razor, obviously disinfect first but I'll spare the boring details.

Anyway, shaving the balls comes hand in hand with "I want to have a nice package and stay away from a forest.". If you don't do it like a jackass you'll be rewarded with nice smoothness 8D. The first time I did it was when my girlfriend forced me to. The fear of holding a razor in one hand and staring down at your balls. That said, the result was fucken A for the relationship :p.

I like to be tidy but I have my limits ya know :lol:. I'm not the most precise person with my hands so I think I'll leave any intimate trimmings to the bare essentials.

THIS. All I do is hop in the shower and shave with a Mach 3. I've NEVER cut myself. Just don't shave them like a goddamn barbarian and you'll be ok!:P

Yeah i started getting pubic hair when i was eight i hit puberty early as did my sister think Tifa from AC to get a general idea and shes 15. I would be scared to shave down there too because my hand is not the steadiest lol.

Since no one has pointed this out as of yet, I'd like to draw attention to the fact that Final Fantasy boys have seemingly no chest, armpit, leg, or arm hair. The privates are anyone's best guess, although I will point out that when we see Zack in his swimsuit, there is no happy trail. :D

Nothing wrong with armpit, leg or pubic hair on a guy. On a woman, I have no problem with them not WANTING it, but personally I find legs and armpits attractive when shaved not hairy. Their genitals I couldn't give a shit about.

I don't like body hair. I shaved my legs for a while. Then one time I got little red bumps. I'm waiting for them to go away. :( Its very distressing.

I think I'm going to try buying wax strips, I don't want to go to have anything done.

Im hairless on ma chest. Absolutely smooth and soft - wtf? Ive tried everything as well to get a hairy chest, it just look so... manly.... ya know? Im not very hairy so I also dont have overly hairy legs or sex area. As for chicks having hair anywhere OTHER than their heads - no thnx.
