Not excited for XIII?

Am I the only one not that excited about XIII? I mean i'm excited, but they haven't show anything to get me really excited. Like i'm excited because of the graphics, art style (reminds me alot of X, which is like my fav. FF), and the promise of new exciting gameplay mechanics. But I just find it hard to really get excited when we know absolutely nothing about the game. Tell me what ya think.



EDIT: Actually I am pretty damn excited, but I wish they would hurry.... haven't been this excited since MGS 4..... which wasn't that long ago...

Well first I think you posted in the wrong section of the forums. Secondly, I think that everyone is excited at least to some degree otherwise they wouldnt be on a Final Fantasy forum scouting for news about it. But yeah, personally I am somewhat excited and Im finding it hard to wait for this upcoming game(s) to come out....

My interest in games spark up near release date, but I have lost a little bit of interest in 13 because its taking so long for more details.

XII had major problems during development, and Kitase has confirmed that all plans for XIII are on schedule. So even though it's taking a long time for us to get details and such about the game, it's not quite the same case as XII.

I'm personally still very excited about this game, everything about it has impressed me so far. I can't wait to hear more about the battle system, and the characters.

i am more excited for the final fantasy versus XIII, i'm kinda afraid of having big expectations for the the FF XIII and in the end it would like, fail... til now we only have seen the graphics and some of the characters (and both rocks) and only a small part of the history, but it seems soooo cooool ;-;

but i liked the XII (which is great because i didn't like X in the beginning, and i really didn't like X-2. It wasn't so exciting as the others final fantasies) so i think that FFXIII will be awesome XD

well i hated FF12 too i thought it was awful in like every way..but FF13 is being done by the people who did the ones i love like 7,8 and 10 so i think we have less to worry about. I think Versus looks really awesome with its dark style, but that game is still too much of a mystery. :|

If Final Fantasy XIII is a mediocre game we wait a few years for to come out and lasts less than 50-60 hours, I'll give up all hope for the Final Fantasy series.

release for Crisis Core really set me down this path. It was such bullshit. you wait a few years to buy a shitty game with a ripped off battle system that's exactly identical to the boring KH battle system and three times as easy as it is, pay 40 shitting USD for it, and it lasts 18 hours.

Now that's what I call bullshit marketing. Sure the story was nice, but the only significant characters of the game were Angeal, Aerith, and Zack. Maybe Tseng, too. Everyone else was just cannon fodder.

I could've used that 40 USD for an effect pedal for my amp, but noooooooo. this is what happens when you trust in SE to make you a game that isn't a pile of shit and make it worthwhile.

Smry: I'm not exactly anticipating any Fabula Nova Crystallis projects because SE released a game that I had to pay 40 bucks for that was a pile of flaming shit :{D

i wouldn't say i'm not excited for the game but right now from what i've seen i havn't been blown away by the game. I mean 360 and ps3 fans were so busy over reacting over the announcement that they forgot to even look at the new (old) trailer. i was waiting for a big surprise but there was nothing there. however i have to say the design for that girl with the bow on Xion's avatar looks like an interesting character but so far my money is on that girl from Vs13.

FF13 isnt as much of a mystery...weve seen bits of gameplay footage..and because its the main game you kinda allready know things like summons and things of that fashion are going to be in it..we know much more of the world and ideas behind 13 also

When I buy a game from a company that costs 40 shitting USD, I expect it to be a damn good game, not something I'll be done with in one week and never play again.

It's not just final fantasy, though. Since the Square and Enix merge, they've released a load of mediocre games to line their pockets full of cash. It damages that company's credibility from my point of view, and sickens me.

Maybe they should go back to sprites and text and actually start to focus on character development, aspects of gameplay, and storyline instead of whoring out their eye-candy. =\

For some reason I'm more excited about XIII. The heroine of the game interests me because from the trailers and bit of information we've been given from Square-Enix she seems WAY different then all of the female characters created before in the FF series. But I'm still excited for Versus; the new dark theme set in proves to be interesting and tragic and the protagonist of the game seems like such a mystery.
I could care less that the game is multi-platform and I'm not really against microsoft for making it so because microsoft is always buying everything anyways. But the battle system looks really cool and exciting in XIII so I'm definitely anticipating these games.^_^

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't we know a little more about Versus than XIII at this point, even though XIII is coming out first? In terms of plot, anyway. And therefore shouldn't it be rather unfair to say you're not as excited for it simply because of the lack of information? I guess that's the way I take it. We don't know a lot at this point, so what gives me the right to judge how exciting the game will be when there isn't much known? Until we get some more information, it's probably best to just be indifferent more so than anything else.

I've always been more excited for versus than XIII. It feels different and mysterious and dark. XIII hasn't had any jaw dropping scenes in trailers yet (except for the graphics in battles - for a long time I thought they were CG :P)

I loved the beginning of FFX because Zanarkand looked cool and dark (it was night I know but...y'know :wub:) but the game seemed to change completely after Tidus arrived at the paradise island... I don't remember the name of that place. :lol: But that change sucked. Not that I hated that island... It was nice and pretty.
The same thing was with FFXII in the beginning. I loved the darkness.
Anyway I always dreamt of a darker FF and SE has made my wishes come true.

But I like Lightning too, she doesn't seem annoying at all like Rinoa or Aerith or Tifa... I think she's cool and has attitude. :wub:
Overall I need to see more amazing things to be more excited for XIII. Now I'm not that hyped.

I hope there won't be any romance in either game <_< I can't stand that stuff. Because I'm jealous :aldo:

I never said that we know more about XIII then Versus. I just said that we know enough about Lightning to at least predict whether you will like her enough. Well, I have always been more excited for Versus. But I used to be almost equally excited for XIII as well, but after the multiplatform announcement, most of my excitement was shot, and now I am currently building up my hype from the bottom up again. I am still excited for both games though just a lot more excited for Versus. What doesn't help is the major lack of info. We know hardly anything about both games, and its ridiculous, a little story tidbits, and a few screens now and then is not going to hurt anything, but we don't even get that. I am dying for a new *FULL QUALITY* Trailer of Versus. And a completely new trailer for XIII *All they did with the E3 trailer is put in motion the screens we saw already, it wasn't that wonderful* And dear god i am dying for names! I want to know what to call these people, i'm tired of calling them Prince, Rapier girl, Mr. 33 centimeters, Pig tailed girl, Shotgun guy, Scar guy, and Glasses guy, hooded man o yeah and Mafia man.
Its just old, and its funny because the only name we have is Lightning, and Lightning isn't even her real name, its her code name, because she can't remember her real name =_=. I would also like to see new characters for XIII, 3 characters isn't exactly...a lot....
And last but not least I would like to hear and or see more details about the gameplay for both games.
So yeah, my hype meter isn't very high right now... I'm very bored as of now. But what can I do about it you know? XP

Well it has a dark storyline as it has been said. Look it up i read in plenty of places, Doesn't mean the weather is going to be dark all the time or the characters are going to be wearing black, it just means there's going to be a darker plot, Emotional twists, Blood, More Evil, no yuna dancing lke FFx-2, less weddings, less heart baloons and less happy music, you get me? It has also been said that don't expect the character to be all cool without depth throughout the whole game which is good cause it's like a mix of Tidus and Cloud (not saying that cloud doesn't have depth but i mean it's like clouds badass fighting mixed with Tidus's emotions/character or something along those lines don't attack me :] ).

i personally wouldnt mind 3-4 chars for XIII xD most FFs that have 6-12 chars you tend to only ever use 3-4 anyway. rest just turn into fodder or are used to stand on buttons in multi-pt situations >.>

See i don't really agree with that. I think a lot of characters is one of the things that make Final Fantasy games so good. I like being able to use different battle strategies according to what character(s) im using at the time. But i do kinda understand what you mean. There is always that one character you hate using in the game.

But to the subject, im more excited about a final fantasy game coming out that's not a spin off of another one *cough*VII*cough*. But as far as being excited over XIII itself, lets just say im more nervous.
