So instead of making it sound like SE betrayed "us" or whatever why don't we think about how economy works, I'm not saying EVERYONE is acting un appreciative but for those who are all pissy about the multi platform thing need to realize how business works as Bun has said. She also mentioned how this is just going to bring in more customers, it's not about a "console war" or anything like that or which system is better. And if anyone says anything bad about what Bun said or about Bun, I'm going to break your knees with a spoon <333

Hah! But no, seriously. I'm flattered you felt the need to quote me (boy I made a lot of spelling mistakes x_x ), as I'm no "wiz of the biz" as I said on another forum. I'm just tired of seeing so many fans getting upset for no good reason at all, at least from what I've seen. And I just wish people would focus more on the important facts, like there's actually still going to be a game/games for us to play. These people put so much time and effort and heart into these projects that we should really be grateful if anything.

dont get me wrong, in a business point of view, this is called investment, from a game making company onto another console, thats fine by me. Square are planing to release other games on to the 360, we just dont talk about it much cause we dont care for does titles.

We say these things because FF has been a PLaystation game for more than 10 years now, so no one expected this to hpn, we have grown to like FF and Sony that much, or this forum would not existe right?
So yeah we back Sony has a company and a console for letting Square use their hardware to project their imagination, and that why most of us probably got the PS3 in the 1st place. Then theres the point that the 360 users have been having this argument for ages about FF on their console, because obviasly these same players had a PS2, and played all other FFs until now.

Alot of people were so in a hurry to get a next Gen consoles that only now, after that anouncement, Xbox360 just payed off. So they gona make a choice, cheaper game on DVD or more money for a Blue Ray.

All in all Square Wins both ways, but Elphy, this will allways be a console war lol and Sony just lost this battle, by losing the exclusive rights to be the solo console to have FF13, meaning sales are not gona be as big as they hoped for on 13, sony are the losers here.. Ohh well, hopes for Versus to set things right.

While I might not be as angry as some people over the cross-platform news I am upset for two reasons.
First: I got a PS3 for FF13. I can't afford both, and I love the FF series, with this info I kinda regret the choice as some of the 360 exclusives really appeal to me, so ya, bit upset.
Second: I was concerned the quality of the game would drop to meet what the 360 can do. Luckily Devs and others have stated this news won't effect the PS3 quality and thats a good thing.
But to specifically touch on this post itself and why I -was- angry...yeaaah I'm sorry. But I don't think I really owe the devs/creators anything, including slack. Yes a lot goes into making these games, and I love these guys for how awesome some of them are, but they get paid for this. FF13 isn't going to be free. Keeping that in mind, ya I'd really like to get my money's worth for graphics and all around quality when I buy the game.

Its a business and they do what the feel they have to do, but I don't have to be happy about it do I?

As for the quality of the game itself, well, that's something we can only wait and see. There really is no reason to be angry at this point (any logical reason anyway, that I can see) as they probably haven't even begun working on the issue of tuning the quality of graphics, etc to the 360. Because, who knows, maybe there won't be a significant difference? Obviously they're going to do their best to bring the game up to par, otherwise they would end up losing sales in the end if they didn't, which I'm pretty sure they don't want to happen, especially after making a decision like this. And if my guess is correct, they know about how the news was taken by fans and critics alike; they understand the issues in the path ahead.

What I still can't understand is why anyone should be angry about it...unless you work for Sony. We're still getting our game. It's still coming out for the PS3, which they had been working with exclusively on the white engine. Why would they drop quality already at 50%+?

I know alot of people did buy a ps3 because of FF13, and the game aint even out anytime soon.... but i think you guys are missing out on what you just got for your money... PS3 is so much more than a gaming console... plus your still gona have the game anyways, plus Versus + any other amazing game out there for ps3, they are just starting to tap into the ps3s capabilitys, in many ways "i think" Ps3 is the better console, so dont regret you bought a PS3, cause that a sin, and youl go to hell for that shit!!!

Buy some blue Rays, download some movies, and use that beast of a machine.

It's incredibly retarded. And just to emphasize the point of people's stupidity, on a KH forum I heard that some went to the lengths of buying a fucking new PS2, (when they already have one) plus a Swap Magic JUST to play KHII:Final Mix+. Which was bascially the same damned game just with additional jizz. Need I say it was the price of a new game, and it was in Japanese lolz.

So that's what, around 400 bucks in total for a 60+ hour play?

I was going to get a PS3 specifically for Final Fantasy XIII, but I was also holding out on it because (1) the game isn't even done yet, (2) we don't have so much as released date either, (3) nor a playable demo, and (4) I'd rather get it after a price drop so that I do not have to shell out 400 dollars at the moment.

While I seem to have entertained the same idea as some other individuals, I waited specifically for a couple of reasons - which are posted above - and it seems to have benefited me more so than the idiots who went out and got one anyway. Quite well said, Elphy and Bun. I couldn't agree more. Given, I'd buy the PS3 to play FFXIII (and Versus), I'd probably want to play other games as well.

I'm glad some people brought the "high expectations" matter up, it is a serious problem amongst gamers these days. Just because a company has a few blockbuster titles, they expect the millenium's phenomenal masterpiece from them next. I've only a few things to say to these people: Go play in traffic and die. Seriously.

A lot of people are so spoiled these days, it makes me want to hurl about 10 times each day looking at them. Kids with ridiculous amount of money, or even adults, they just buy whatever is cool, and now besides the pc with internet access is that a game console can be found in nearly all households. Just because "it's cool, and everyone has one". There are no sacred sanctuaries for true gamers anymore, there are cliques, fads, and band-wagon hoppers filling the corner of every suburban streets. Truly disgusting. Best part is these people don't even touch the games they buy or finish it and it collects dust.

And now this whole "z0mg SE betrayed us" bs. Betting $10 USD these people are ones who don't finish all the games they buy. I'm getting a headache, someone get the n00bbusters or anti-retard nazis.

Likewise I don't see any point in complaining about how people are stupid for basing their decision on buying a PS3 on a game. People buy things for different reasons. Who cares? Let them do what they want and you do as you want. It's funny that some of you are telling people to stop complaining and yet the majority of page 2 is people complaining about "stupid people who buy consoles for one game." Let me just say though, that although I can understand why people are angry (especially people who really believe in Sony and what to see them succeed), I have to say that if you really think that FFXIII was going to be God's gift to the PS3 and it was the "only bombshell title that was going to be good" on the PS3 then you really need to do some googling. I love Sony too and was looking forward to them finally having a great exclusive title that I was actually interested in that could bring in money for them but please don't act like there aren't other bombshell exclusives coming out for PS3.

I've said it about 3 or 4 other times in this forum but there are plenty of great exclusives coming to PS3 very soon. Disgaea 3, LittleBigPlanet, God of War 3, Team ICO's new game (unannounced as of yet but we all know it's coming), InFamous and White Knight Chronicles are just a few in the big lineup. These are all HIGHLY, HIGHLY, HIGHLY anticipated games and are all PS3 exclusive and will probably (most likely) stay that way (Infamous has a possibility of going multi-plat but that's unlikely right now). So are you honestly telling me this (http://ps3.ign.com/dor/objects/950618/disgaea-3-absence-of-justice/images/disgaea-3-20080605032712216.html?page=mediaFull) isn't even the LEAST bit awesome? How about this (http://www.gametrailers.com/player/36462.html)? Does this (http://www.gametrailers.com/player/36540.html) honestly not look even a LITTLE fun? Is this (http://www.gametrailers.com/player/22732.html) not beautiful?

On top of that PS3 is also getting some games that were previously 360 exclusive. Bioshock and the developers of the currently unreleased Tales of Vesperia have talked about wanting to try for the PS3 as well. There was recently a situation with Namco "accidentally" printing that it was being released for 360 and PS3 and they've since "fixed" it. Something similar happened with Eternal Sonata and look how that turned out. Besides, what sense does it make releasing a Tales of game (predominantly japanese fanbase) on the 360 exclusively, given 360's current state in Japan... Then of course there's Eternal Sonata which will include extra features and 2 new playable characters.

Let's not act overly dramatic. If you're a fan of fantasy games then there are plenty to come on PS3 and we all know there will be plenty more in the future. Just because there weren't that many announced at E3 doesn't mean they aren't in the works. Keep your heads up Sony fans!

Now that I think of it, what does it matter at all, I mean I have heard of a bunch of people getting pissy about this because when they were deciding what console to get the choose the more expensive PS3 because it was going to harbor FFXIII. But what does it matter that you spend $200 more? The PS3 is still much more advanced and will, not today or tomorrow, have some great games coming out! I'm glad I got the PS3, it's my babe and has almost everything I'd ever need.
