Will you Import Final Fantasy XIII?

Now it's been confirmed that Final Fantasy XIII will be coming out in Japan first (exclusively on PS3), you know Square-Enix will take forever with localizing. So, like every Final Fantasy we have the choice of importing. Play-Asia is dead to us now since they're scared of Sony but there are other ways.

So will you import it before the US and European release dates?

Well S-E said the were making the localisation faster this time, so hopefully it won't take forever. I usually import the US version since I don't see the point of importing the Japanese version if I can't understand it, no matter how much I want to play it. But this time the UK version is coming the same time as the US version so I don't have to import =]

No, I dont know japanese. If I play it I will miss out on alot and it will just be one big spoiler for English version when it comes ou.

I don't know. I remember having cum all over my face whenever the FFXII voicecast spoke. Very similar experience with Kingdom Hearts as well.

To be honest, I found neither FFXII nor Kingdom Hearts to be anything special.

Although, I think I had a bias against XII. I hate Kari Wahlgren with a passion. :3

I can read Japanese (i am much better in Katakana) but i will not be importing it i'll just wait as after all i am better in English than Japanese plus i would just rather play it in my native laguage who cares if it comes out later i mean i've waited all this time whats a little longer anyway.

I think I would highly consider it, seeing as how there will probably be translations somewhere around the internet eventually. But I like having that authenticity, even if I don't entirely understand every word.

I personally see no point to importing. I dont know japanese, and half of my enjoyment of ff games comes from the story. It also pisses me off trying to find out where i need to go. Wandering around aimlessley is not my style.

We presumably won't be waiting as long as usual in England if they're going for at least a worldwide release. Out of Japan, at least.

I won't bother importing unless I somehow become fluent in Japanese. I'd love to be able to see the little changes that happen in translation, though.

I would but honestly I don't want to shell out the extra cash just to have a game a little sooner than everyone else. Not a efficient way of wasting money....Even though that makes no sense. Plus then gotta deal with people bugging "so what's it like, zomg is it pwnage, teh 70741 1337!?!?!??!one11!!" Can only tell so many people to STFU and GTFOB before you get annoyed. So I'll wait the 3+ months or w/e they wanna take and think of other ways to waste the money i woulda wasted on that <.<

well...presuming that the game will not occupy all the bluray,there my by a tinny little chance that the U.S. version has the voices in english and in japanese.Almost all games that i have for the ps3 has the english version plus other ver. like italian,dutch and french.But i don't know for sure if the U.S. versions of games are identical to the EU ver.,or if they have included the original Jp version of the game...

No way I'm going to import it. Well I understand some japanese and I'd maybe survive with the jp version but I want my game experience to be full and not be interrupted by pauses when I translate some text without any important purpose. I want to understand everything they say. And I don't want to be spoiled since I would buy the pal version anyway. -_- And it would cost more too if I bought both versions.

I'm a Europe-dweller so I'm considering circumnavigating the 9 month - foreversville localization process from America to Europe and just importing it from the U.S, even if you guys do get the crappy boxart :nod:
