You are right there. I would prefer not to have text in most sigs. It's just that most people request/expect text.

I see nothing wrong with sigs without text. I actually prefer them. :)

Ah the wonders of Topaz (I think that's what you mean). T'is a plugin for Photoshop :)

The first one is nice, and the latest one is decent. Everything else, not so much. Your borders are ugly and simplistic. In most cases they're really limiting and ruining your works. Try to think of everything as a part of the flow, and not to think of everything in steps. Just adding a border in the end is step-thinking: "And to top it off - a border." It's ugly. If you're going to put a border, put your own spin on it to make it mesh with the rest of the sig as to not take away from it. Otherwise, don't bother with them; omit it completely.

Doubt it. To be honest I don't see the similarities in the examples you posted, except maybe Crash and Apparition.

The Abstract and Ifrit are completely different, as are Beckinsale and oh my love.

But yeah to be honest, there are only so many techniques generally used in sig-making, so I wouldn;t be surprised at all if me and Whip used same or similar techniques in many sigs.
