I figured while we wait for the game to come out we can discuss and speculate/theorize on the items that will be in FFXIII. We'll probably see the same HP restoration items like Potions, Hi-potions, Phoenix downs and etc. The question of whether there will be any MP restoration items are in question. (Note: I know I can just go look at the trailer but I am lazy, if there is MP in the game then I apologize as there probably will be MP restoration items to restore MP). One of the interesting thing I think will come about this game are the use of enfeebling items. In the trailer, Lightning uses something like a Gravity bomb/grenade... I wonder if something like that will be available for in-game use, as well as other possible ones like Smoke Bomb to blind the enemies, etc. etc. be creative... discuss.

Well we haven't seen any mention of MP so far. Doesn't mean it won't be included I suppose. What I want to know is, will they model the items this time around? Potions, Phoenix Downs and almost all items have been invisible in every game. Wonder if that will change.

Since all actions require points you can suspect a item that restores/breaks limit on the point gauge. Would be similar to what a ether does for MP. I doubt they would have the same amount of items that XII had and just go for a more simple route.

Yeah I would hope so but it still isn't a high priority. It would be nifty to pin on the back of the box though.

Nice Desi, I over-looked that confirmation, thanks for the recap. And yeah, I think it would be a very nice change if items could be visible in-game when used.

I wouldn't dismiss the possibility, and maybe you need items to upgrade these summons? (e.g. motorcycle parts for Shiva twins? :P )

That'd be cool. Like optionally collect those items. I'd still go for the usual items, but I hope they show something new and more effective. Did you ever run into items that seem useless??

I really like the idea of items affecting the power of your summons (like FFIX, with the stones). I like the items which make reference to mythology (Thor's Hammer, Celestial Mirror), stuff like that, hope there'll be plenty of it!
