I thought that crisis core was the best handheld game that I have ever played. I love the battle system. The extra missions are cool to play if you don't have a lot of time to play. They do get repetitive, but not to the point that you will stop playing them. It is the best game I have played in a while. It didn't disappoint. I don't agree with gameinformer because they gave it a 7.25 out of 10, but I give it a 9.5 out of 10

It was relativly a good game. But not amazing.
The gameplay for me felt to much like KH (YOU DO NOT NEED FRIENDSHIP TO WIN A BATTLE), minus the Materia slots which where good.
As for the missions, some where stupidly long and repetitive, but i did play through them all in order just to level up.
As for the slots, it was a good method for breaking up the combat, but overall, the system in which leveling up was annoying, even despite the 7,7,7 being not random but actually when you needed to level up, you don't have any idea when to expect your going to jump a level, and for myself, i found that extremly annoying.

The story is itself. Most people know it, mainly because of FFVII, but this does go a bit more indepth into the story and characters.
Graphically it was a good game, but some edges seemed a bit to sharp for my liking, and it gave it an overall KH impression graphically, which wasn't overall appealing to me. But for the PSP system its very good.

It deserves an 8.5 maxium. :cathryn:

I loved the fact that the story was amazing, but the missions were basicly all the same concept. there was no new maps besides the few mission spots it gives you. I liked the ending very much sad but awesome

Crisis Core is a good game. Not the best on the PSP but still a game that fans of Final Fantasy who have PSPs should play. The Story is a good one. The combat can get repeative sometimes but it hasn't stopped me from playing the game. The graphics are good and some of the best on the PSP. The voice acting is decent . The music is good.

Graphics: Good - Great.
The characters animate so well though the areas are a bit bland. I realize that is too accompany the battle system so things are a bit stretched and empty. It is able to keep the complexed graphics all the time that Kingdom of Paradise only had during cutscenes.

Story:
Please.

Characters:
Please.

Side quests: Good
The mission structure is great for on the go play. It is a handheld game afterall. They lose out a lot by really just being the same bash enemy up the side of the head rinse and repeat. Moving around the same 5 or so maps doesn't help the matter any better, boy though was I excited to see a new area after completing 40+ % of the missions. A boring tanker never looked so good.

Battle System: Average
Me being the battle system junkie I am I can only give it a pass. What is there too give it anything higher? Nothing takes more then the basic premise of smack, smack, and smack.
Positives do include: back attacks are criticals, DMW is more better then I thought.
with Negatives: Zack auto-run messing up open attacks, auto-lock causing much more trouble then it should, vast amount of abundant though medioce materia.

The Materia is the real culprit. They had a good and working system with FFVII why screw that up by making Fire, Fira, and Firaga different and not a simply evolution? Tri-firaga, Fire Blade? Just more added nonsense. They could all be one materia with fire blade coming from Elemental strike. Five materia just to do the job of one is a joke. Hell only gets a pass for being a hodgepodge of poison, silence, stun, and element. The whole system felt like a bastardization of the old system.

I don't do number ratings soooo....oh forgot characters and story.

Characters: Undecided.
The big problem with the cast of Crisis Core is the new people. Lezard oops Lazard, Genesis, Angeal, and even Hollander (to an extent) all feel very poor. I was more pleased with Kunsel than any of the above. Lazard was a soulless white pants wearing man that was supposed to be the boss of soldier. Genesis: some poetry/play reading monkey that wants to be a hero but doesn't realize he was until he decided to destory everyone that cared for him with the power of dumbapples. Angeal: If I have to hear this wannabe Kain betraying flip-flop beardless bitch talk about honor one more damn time! His death was accompanied by laughter as he lost in about 40 seconds or so. Hollander: A character I was so interested in since he was only talked about in FFVII and seen in a few scenes. Sephiroth bringing up the teachings of Hollander made me want to see this person, now I wish I have not. Funny running professor with a banora apple t-shirt on, please die again. Cissnei: I almost forgot about her, now you know how much I care. Really though, her character was to be someone that tried too hard to be serious and not care. It just never went through right because Rude (in FFVII) and Tseng had that downpacked before hand.

The old cast is pretty fine. Cloud is a bitch, Aeris has weird shoes, Zack is decent but funny, sephiroth smiled, no scarlet so I am pissed, Yuffie great, Tseng I have a new understanding of very loyal and that breaks during FFVII, Hojo was made about 20% more awesome with the line "SOLDIER's duty is not to think...it is to protect men who thinf for them, like me." Read it before but in game it was so awesome.

Story: Poor
I am that much a fan of story, I played Thousand Arms. This game's story is nothing special and even takes a couple falls. It only succeeds in the Nibelheim event and the ending while everything else feel like a rush just to those events. The HUGE Wutai war felt non-existent as it was pushed under the rug faster than the first chapter. And events just added for Crisis Core held no weight. Then again they felt like nothing more then just moments for fan-service. "HEY LOOK a Guard Scorpion!"

I don't give number ratings: Just think it is above average with graphics and battle system keeping it from falling on its face.
