Favorite Party?

Seeing as FFIX had a diverse cast of characters(battle wise), whom did you find yourself using the most? Use this poll to select your usual party, as there is a multiple check option of up to 4 choices.

My main was usually Zidane, Freya, Vivi and Amarant.

-Zidane obviously because you have to use him. Thankfully his trance was useful and he's got pretty good attack power (and can steal).
-Freya I used as my support healer. After she would cast Rei's Wind, I'd usually make her jump(to avoid any attacks) or throw a healing item if need be.
-Vivi obviously has the black magic which is usually always useful. Once he gets his later spells, he's an AWESOME ally to have in battle once he is focused up.
-Amarant I used as an attacker/support. Throwing his throw specific items actually does more damage than his regular attack, and his Curse skill was great for Vivi to take advantage of.

vivi- for his black magic
steiner- for his high damage

also vivi can conbine his power to steiners sowrds to cast a stronger magic attack.

Yes in the actual game. If you never removed him, he would be a part of your favorite party though. Since you made none without him.

I basically had the same party as IP, just that I switched from Freya to Amarant from time to time and had Eiko as my fourth party mate.

Although I'd still use Zidane as his trance is probably the best in the game. His stats aren't that bad either thankfully.

I never really used Dagger/Eiko/Quina/Steiner unless I had to. Summons and such were nice, but I could do just as much if not more damage from a black magic spell/regular attack half the time. Healing was covered by auto potion and Reis' Wind from Freya (or even Chakra from Amarant). Steiner was really powerful, but I simply had a preference to Amarant for his abilities. I just found them more useful in my battle plan. Blue Magic was just a bitch for me, pure and simple.

Zidane, Freya, Vivi and Dagger/ Steiner. I always used Freya and Vivi, they were such good characters. Especially Vivi's magic ^^

I've always used Zidane, Dagger, Eiko and Amaranth, even when I went up against Ozma lol. XD I wasn't able to concentrate as much on Quina, Freya and Steiner, just basically made them learn all their skills and that's that. ToT Also, if it were just a sortie, I usually take Vivi in the place of either Dagger or Eiko, Doomsday is WAY too cool not too be used. :P until you forgot to equip Dark-absorbing accessories/armor and you die in one single cast. >.<;;

I would always use....

Zidane- cause hes the default character
Dagger- to heal and for summons
Vivi- useful,powerful, black magic
Steiner- for his high damage..also great when used with Vivi

I found that I used Zidane, Vivi, Steiner and Garnet most often:

Zidane: Main character so has to be used, but he was quite powerful and had a useful steal command. His trance attacks were very good if he was at high enough level (able to deal 9999 quite easily) and he was quite easy to train up in general, with lots of great items such as Ultimate Weapon.

Vivi: Lots of great magic to be cast, was also pretty fond of him as a character.

Steiner: When combined with Vivi could use magic sword and due to his high strength and defence, this was an added bonus.

Garnet: Her Eidolons were really good so used to her automatically. Her white magic was really useful also.

I trained all my characters up to about the same level, but I found that I used the above four a little more often than the others.

And if I was feeling silly, i'd add Quina for the lulz. Never liked using mages so i've never really used Vivi, and Steiner annoyed the hell outta me XD Dagger is there for her summons and healingz.

Zidane - Well..You have to have him, except for the Kuja's palace portion, which can be such a pain..

Garnet - Cause..well..Hey, she's Garnet. Besides, I tend to have the main couple always together in party, if possible.

Vivi - He's just plain awesome..Probably the 1st regular 3-D FF where aBlack Magic was useful all aorund, and didn't just feel tacked on.

Steiner - He us strong, and gets uber powerful if you get him his strongest swords and skills.

I stick with the original Zidane, Dagger, Steiner and Vivi. I use the others occasionally and level them up while having abit of fun with a different character cast...but I just like the original four too much.

For most FFs, I usually stick with any party with two strong attackers and one white mage. If there's a fourth slot, that's usually a red mage or somethng similar. I pretty much never use black mages except for when you don't have a choice (like FFIV).

However, in IX, for the later part of the game, I used Zidane (attacker), Dagger (w.mage/summoner), Vivi (b.mage) and Amarant (attacker). Vivi's black magic is especially useful, so that's why I stuck with him.

Zidane-could do without him but sometimes his steal abilities turned usefull, used as a team helper
Vivi-classic choice, you always need a good mage in your team to kick asses
Eiko- main healer, I prefer her over Dagger, since she had more spells, and her last Summon was same powerful as any Garnet's one, so I didnt see a reason to take princess to my team
Steiner- quite obvious, this guy was like tank, main attacker

Amarant, for physical attacks and because he's my favorite character

My favourite party were:

Zidane, not only just because you have to use him just the fact he can be strong and his trances are great.

Vivi, because of black magic.

Dagger, because she uses white magic and summons.

Steiner, same as someone else mentioned due to the fact he does high damage.

I prefer Zidane because he has cool abilities, Dagger because I love summoning, Vivi because he is a cool character with awesome magic, and Freya because Jump is awesome.

It's been a long time since I played and got far enough into IX that I can't remember exactly what party I used.

I think I used Zidane, Vivi, Amarant, and Freya. I believe I used this party to defeat Ozma.

My usual party after gathering all eight characters typically was Zidane for the obvious reason of him not being allowed out of the party (though he did have a good balance of strength and speed). I also frequently used Vivi and Eiko for black and white magic spells respectively, with Eiko summoning, too. And then I would switch a lot between Steiner and Freya for my main physical attacker, Freya's Jump ability kicked some serious ass, but Steiner was pretty awesome as well.

And Dagger & Eiko, constantly waiting around to heal.

Zidane: Cuz I just like him, stealing, that move of his that does max damage if you've stolen enough times, and his trance moves.

Garnet: I like her too, love the summons (wish I could always use alexander :wub:), and healing.

Vivi: He's cute, love magic attacks.

Eiko: More summons + Holy.

Really, the team I loved to use might not be the most efficient but I just loved using them.

my favorite party was of zidane, quina, vivi and freya. Quina is my favorite ff9 character and my favorite ff character of all time, i love how she is different and she is very funny to watch. Plus her blue magic is very usefull. Vivi is the magician. Freya and zidane were more of the attackers, and i would also switch out the two with "Dagger"(whom i named Kid) and eiko.
But the only person i never use is amarant, he is a fighter type and i don't like fighter types, plus he is a bit of a bad guy too.
