Okay so I am sick and tired of being called emo
I thing the term is being used way too much and it's getting old quick
When I was on my meds I would get either pissed off or depressed but never suicidal....and when I wanted to talk to someone about it they'd ignore me so I always keep my feelings bottled up and shit....then people wonder why I get pissed off so easily....and in any case I have more anger issues then depression issues...so I guess if being pissed off means being emo then I guess I am emo......

I know I'm not the only one here who's had this problem....

Hell I never even cut myself..ever...I've had ONE suicidal thought and that was only for a night...and other then that I'm never suicidal...I'm just angry cuz my life is sucking right now and I want to just vent

It's because people are fucking idiots that they use terms like this as sweeping generalisations. When in fact, the connotations of the work have become entirely lost and no one actually knows what it means.

For example – Emo was a musical term to describe post hardcore bands in the 90’s, however it lost that meaning and now ANY BAND WITH A SINGER WHO FUCKING SINGS is branded as emo, often with no sonic relation whatsoever

And somehow, God knows how, it has evolved to describe a personality trait which could be anything from depression to suicidal tendencies. Anyone who uses the term in such a way is a first class idiot of the highest degree.

And how the fuck can you look emo? This is purely a product of the music industry catching on to the current musical trend and creating a look for the sound-alike bands that they churn out

The same thing happened to The Cure, their music was among the first to be described as goth. Look what has happened to the use of that word now.

Same. I find it difficult to control my anger in irritating situations, but i think the only thing you can do is either take it as an insult and punch the person. Or try and control your anger.
I'm not very good at doing so since i haven't seen my mentor. D; THE BITCH DITCHED ME :nag:

I'd advise getting a mentor, they work extremely well, i used to spend around an hour just generally chatting with my mentor, and because it was all confidential it was just great to have somebody to spill so much shit that has happened to you recently.

i once tried suicide... but i lost my little brother and my best friends right infront of my eyes... i always thought it was my fault, so i cut my wrist in the hottub, my guardian noticed it quickly.. does that count as emo??

I don't take out my anger at all. The most extreme I've ever gone is yelling or biting my lip, and I haven't done the first for over three years. Surpressing anger is much more convenient than physically taking it out. Less painful too.

Besides, It's rather difficult to get me angry. You could hit me in the face, and I wouldn't be angry. I've also NEVER had any suicidal thoughts or even thoughts of self-inflicted pain.

i'm sorry, but there is NO WAY that someone can go forever being totally idle and even-tempered. the moment i moved off to a college town, i INSTANTLY went on a multi-year rampage. in fact, i'm still kind of pissed as we speak. it's hard to stay calm when you are surrounded by thousands of tards who should never have been given a drivers license. 10 minutes on the road is more than enough to get my blood boiling...

you need to chill. i am a very chill person, which has many times gotten me accused of being stoned out of my mind, but I am NOT. I am just at peace, and that's where I'd like to stay. Although one time I told me next door neighbor he could fuck himself, because he was being a little bitch, and it's been quite akward ever since. Especially when you live in a small town where you have the exact same people in all your classes...
