Has anybody else had the pleasure of playing these games?

I found the two installments very very good to play. It was Parasite Eve that got me into the Horror Game genre and after an internet search, lead me to the Resident Evil Series and also later on, the Silent Hill series.

Also is anybody slightly optimistic on 'The 3rd Birthday' Considering PE 1 & 2 where on PS1 and now the third installment is being moved to mobile, is anybody a bit worried it may end up less than expected.
I always thought it was going to end up a PS3 game.

I love PE1, never played the second but from what I read it was very different from the first (it became more similar to RE?). PE1 was one of the first PS games I got to play, and the battle system was great for its time. I do hope that, someday, they will make a new PE for PS3 or PSP. Screw JP mobile phones >.<

I am a big fan of Parasite Eve. My cousin a bigger fan then me. I would go into detail but I just don't feel like it at the moment.

About three being on the mobile phone. The real stinger is that people on the other side of the pond won't get to play it. That could be for the better or for worse. Without the original team I couldn't care less about some game trying to edge its way into the world of the games.

As a fan of the Parasite Eve series, It's disappointing that the thrid game is only going to be on mobile phones. It would be cool if it was coming to the PS3 or even PSP. Both PE and PE2 were fun games.

Parasite Eve was my first rpg horror as well, and I certainly enjoyed this one. It's been a while since I've played the game, something like 7ish years so I don't exactly remember every detail. Still, it was well worth the time. I haven't played the second one, even though I have it. I should probably replay the first one before I start on the second.

Ello..

Its been a few years since I played either one of these games. I very much enjoyed them both. I like the entire story and the fighting system is rather good too.

Now seeing this I might go back and play them both again. :P

I wish/hope they make a sequel to the game(not on a fricket phone one either). I think one on the PS3 would look AWESOME.

Ehhh one can just hope I gather...

Considering how brilliant the previous two games where, i wouldn't expect any less from this even despite it being on mobile.
It would be nice if they where able to port the mobile game to DS. Then i would be more oblidged to buy the game, but i doubt it would even reach Europe.

I liked the first two Parasite Eves as well, as much as the 3rd one may have potential I will not play it, as they will downsize the play-value due to technical limitations on the mobile and I hate playing games on the small screen.... I am not sure what SE is thinking putting great game series onto mobiles or portables, it really does not give these games justice and gives some of us reason to believe SE sucks because they focus so much of their attention on title hits such as Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest.

I too had the pleasure of playing PE1 and PE2 and loved it. Have you read the novel? As much as I love the series, it worries me that it will only be on a mobile release...I also expected it to be on the ps3, or at least on a psp. So for the third installment to be a mobile release, I'm a little perturbed to say the least.

I just thought to put this up anyways, it may just be a rumor but apparently PE 3 is going to come to the consoles, I can only hope and cross my fingers and brain that this is true

It's good news that The 3rd Birthday is going to be on PSP so I hope it gets released in the US. I might have to find the first 2 PE games and replay them.

what about the book that PE1 is a sequel of, and the movie of the book? has anyone checked those out?

PS - and i don't think people should be calling it pe3 because its not officially like that, The 3rd Birthday is a spin-off title. (but i speculate that when they develop it more it will actually become more like the 3rd Parasite Eve).

I enjoyed the book, but i wish the translation was handled a bit more carefully.
As for the movie, i never watched it, considering it was just an adaptation. I just went straight to the game considering it was pretty much the direct sequel to the novel.

As for the 3rd birthday. People are just associating it as PE3, because it's much easier to understand i suppose, than referring it to The 3rd birthday.
Whether it's a spin-off title or not, it's still the 3rd installment within the PE series itself. I think a matter of naming doesn't relatively matter. Everybody knows it's called The 3rd Birthday, but refer to it as PE3.

I love Parasite Eve.

For those of you who don't know, the reason why PE2 looked more like RE2 (actually more like 1.5) is because after Resident Evil 2 was 80% complete they decided to start over, and a lot of the development team moved over to squaresoft to work on PE2.

Edit: 3rd Birthday is said to play differently from the previous too titles ... :( ... I'm glad they moved it to the PSP though.

I finally bought the PE novel. I haven't started reading it but will soon. I also need to find the first 2 games so I can play them again. I guess that's ONE good thing about The 3rd Birthday not coming out until late '09. I have plenty of time to replay PE and PE2.:P

I finished the novel BTW. I really enjoyed it. I will have to see the movie eventually. I am curious to see how that book was adapted into a movie,especailly the last 20 or so pages of the novel.

is thi that japanese adaption you mean? I have never saw that movie, but I have seen some short scenes on you tube, I wasnt realli impressed with it, it looked like cheap horror to be honest:'(

Why? Did they completely ruin the plot of the novel or just plain bad acting or special effects?

Adapting something from one type of media to another is sometimes hard to do. A good example of that is movies based on video games.

They basically killed it. Pretty much, it was just a terrible adaptation, they tried to make it work, but it didn't seem right plus it lacked so much plot wise, the acting was OK, but not what I'd call good rofl, stick to the book and the games SRSLY. :wtf:

The 3rd Birthday: Parasite Eve

FMV trailer, was brand new and fucking -amazing-.
The trailer starts off flashing between a present Aya in a city, it's snowing and she's walking in an ally alone. Flashes to the past recalling the previous events with narration.

The quality is amazing, Aya looks gorgeous.

Soon after the snow falling comes to a slow halt and a huge creature erupts from the end of the ally, shredding up snow. The enemy resembled a giant worm but with some kind of mist and tentacles of some kind, I think they looked mechanical.

Aya stands there, pulls out her guns and aims.

Moves into some in game footage and boy, it looks nice. The character models are seemingly leap years ahead of FF7:CC and Agito. There was no battle mechanics shown, just Aya walking around a lab and talking to some people in cutscenes. No voice work besides the narration.

I would agree with Elphy : I need to see that trailer! It would be awesome if there was a Parasite Eve game coming to the PS3 but it's still good that there's one coming to the PSP. Square Enix needs to have a offfical release date on The 3rd Birthday. I have been waiting too long for a new PE game.

According to Square Fagix, and Famitsu, T3B is "doing well" and an early version is playable and "good workmanship" is going into the game and "if things continue to progress smoothly", the game will be showing up at TGS.

I'd love to say that I shot my wad, but over something so miniscule, it might seem to be a bit creepy.

Also, I lack the requirements to produce a wad to shoot.

I remember sometime after Resi 4 came out he said in Famitsu that he completed it in 2 days as he couldn't stop playing it. A parasite is a key theme in the story so I think that game inspired him to bring this IP back from the dead.

Not saying the gameplay will be like Resi 4, just saying that it inspired Nomura to make another PE game.
